Meat of the Matter

The best birds are raised with the highest standards. Whether frozen or fresh, all our turkeys are required to meet our strict quality standards including:

  • 5-Step™ Animal Welfare rated
  • No antibiotics
  • No animal by-products in their feed
  • No Added solutions or injections *
  • No added growth hormones **

* Except for pure sea salt solutions for our turkeys labeled "brined."

** Federal regulations prohibit the use of hormones in raising turkeys.

Turkey Types

Fresh or frozen? Organic or heritage? Here’s what you need to know about our turkey selection. To ensure you get just what you want, reserve your turkey early — size, type and availability vary by location.

Get Fresh

Our fresh birds are raised to reach the perfect size just before the holiday season, then processed and stored just above the freezing point, which can create a thin layer of soft ice on the skin, but allows us to offer to you the freshest, juiciest turkey.

Choose from:

Classic turkeys. All-time customer favorite, year after year. A trifecta of flavor, quality and value. 8-30 lbs.

Organic turkeys. Butcher’s favorite bird! Organic standards, tastes great and no GMO feed allowed! 10-20+ lbs.

Heritage turkeys. Rich and succulent birds bred for flavor, raised slowly and traditionally. They’re old-world breeds with more dark meat. Up to 14 lbs.

Brined turkeys. We’ve done it for you! Our hand-brined birds save you time and help ensure a moist turkey with built-in flavor from pure sea salt. 16-20 lbs.

Kosher turkeys. Two Kosher certifications: Rabbi Babad and the Orthodox Union. Available in select stores. 10-20+ lbs

Snowbirds

Value frozen birds. From this year's turkey harvest. Impress for less with turkeys raised to better standards than you'll find most anywhere else. 10-20 lbs.

Size Matters

When reserving or selecting a whole turkey, allow at least 1 pound per person, plus an extra 1/2 pound per person if you want leftovers. (No, your guests won’t eat a full pound of meat. That number takes into account bones, skin, etc.) Consider the size of your fridge and oven before coming home with a huge bird.
