Berry Chantilly Cake: Creamy, Dreamy and Totally on Sale

Fresh berries. Vanilla cake soaked in raspberry simple syrup. Chantilly cream icing made with whipped mascarpone. These why-are-they-not-in-my-mouth-right-now ingredients make up our Berry Chantilly® Cake — a cake so delicious that people have been known to stand in line for it even if a natural disaster looms, power outage and all (true story). It’s spawned dozens of online copycats and even a hashtag (#berrychantilly anyone?).

Here in at our headquarters in Austin, TX we order up a big ol’ Berry Chantilly for every occasion — be it a birthday, bridal shower, baby shower (or just Tuesday, tbh). But if you don’t live in Louisiana or the surrounding states, you may not have had the chance to taste it yet.

The cake’s cult following got so intense that we wanted to make sure everyone can eat it by the forkful. So now, (yes, right now!) you can get this beloved cake in the bakery at Whole Foods Market stores across the country. To celebrate, we’re sweetening the deal for our customers by offering $5 off the Large Round Berry Chantilly Cake from 4/12 to 4/15 just in time for Easter.

Why it’s So Tasty

Allow us to tell you a little bit about how Berry Chantilly was born. The cake first made its debut more than 12 years ago in the Arabella Station store in New Orleans. One of our talented bakery team members whipped up the cake based on her grandmother’s recipe, and in no time it became a local favorite. Other stores began to pick up the recipe, and within a year or two, Berry Chantilly was wildly popular in our stores across the entire South and Southwest.

Beyond the heartwarming origin story, we think the cake tastes better because we choose the ingredients with TLC.  Fresh berries, cage-free eggs, unbromated flour, and it’s made without artificial colors, flavors or hydrogenated fats.
