My husband has been stuggling with his weight for almost two decades. He is now over 300 lbs and is on five different medications to control his high blood pressure and cholesterol. About a year ago he had a sleep study and was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea, he now sleeps with a by-pap machine. We started a plant strong lifestyle January 1, 2013! So far so good! Breakfast so far is the hardest meal of the day for us, Rip's Big Bowl cereal sounds great!

My wife, Sandee, got me Rip's book "the Engine 2 Diet" for Christmas; I read it cover-to-cover in three nights, and started following Rip's advice on the fourth day - December 28. Yesterday, January 3, 2013, we went shopping for veggies and whole grain foods to replace the garbage we had been eating; we had a whole-grain pizza covered with veggies for dinner ans Sandee was hooked; now she loves the idea as much as I do. I can't speak for Sandee, but I'm planning on staying on the diet after the initial 28-day program ends - I already feel better physically AND mentally. Thanks, RIP!!!

It's been a year since i started the Engine 2 diet and so far I've lost 70 pounds. I'm looking forward to continuing this year and my goal is to lose another 50 pounds. I've been making Rip's big bowl for breakfast almost every day and really enjoy it! Looking forward to trying the packaged version.

I am a 50 yr old /young woman who has tried many different diets on and off. Weight watchers, atikins, nutrisystems etc. I dont stick with them very long I will lose a few pounds and then go back to eating snacks and fast food and gain the weight back in a week or two! With the Engine 2 it is something you need to commit to for a lifestyle change not a fad diet. and while watching forks over knives and reading Rips book it just makes sense why you should eat whole grains and a plant based diet. I am sold, but would like my husband and 4 kids to join me in this change! Time to clean out the cuboards and fridge and restock with the right foods! Looking forward to the change in 2013 :)

A friend just told me about your diet and I'm checking it out. I have high BP and probably high cholesterol. I''ve had the upper resp crud off and on for a month or more and I'm tired of feeling yucky! I could stand to lose a few lbs also. I love milk and cheese so I'm not sure how all this will work out but I'm going to give your diet a try, along with walking which I've done for quite some time. I've read that people "feel better"so I'm excited to see what happens! Thanks for the info!

I am a 56 year old mother/grandmother who started a Crossfit gym and after a few short months discovered what incredible things I am capable of doing, things I never dreamed I could do, things I couldn't do even in my high school years. The problem? Crossfit promotes the Paleo Diet which I don't agree with however I know I need to make changes in my diet to gain more strength and get healthier. I am on NO medication but really, how much longer can this be if I do not change my "processed" way of eating. I have the Engine 2 book and am ready to start week one hoping I see a drop in my Cholesterol and weight. I will make 2013 MY Engine 2 YEAR!!!

I have committed once and for all to get of the meds I have to take for high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I know by changing my diet, getting my weight back in order and moving my body I can do this. I am focused on eating cleaner! I love the idea of putting good plant based foods into my body and my body loves it too. It is amazing that in just a few days I started to feel better because of the better choices I am making in my diet. Rips Big Bowl cereal sounds delicious.....I will be looking for more of his products on my next trip to Whole Foods tomorrow.

As a recent prostate cancer survivor, my wife and I transitioned to a plant based diet last fall as a way of slowing down the growth of my cancer. One of the side benefits, has been a nice loss of weight. Once I have healed from my surgery, I plan to resume a more rigorous exercise program to improve my endurance, and to continue with my plant based diet to minimize my exposure to other diseases.

I have been making Rip's big bowl at home. I started my process of moving from SAD to vegetarian borderline vegan 4 years ago after watching Food Inc. Forks over Knives and Rip's book helped me transition whole foods planted based even easier. Cool to see this product at the store.
