I applaud your movement on the topic of GMO ingredients. I was wondering if your in-store bakery goods are free of GMO's? I enjoy much of the stuff to be had, but with no signage it's impossible to know. Your reply is eagerly awaited. Thank you, Sherry

Thank you. I have a daughter with ulcerative colitis and it is very helpful to have the GMO labeling due to the effect on her body. We appreciate your efforts in doing this.

WHAT I'VE LEARNED: In the last 10 minutes I learned that Whole Foods actually joined forces against Prop 37 by basically doing nothing and then making contributions against it, at the end. This means Whole Foods is as sincere as Mark Zuckerberg. This means that whatever you say is not to be trusted since your bread in butter is in poisoning the consumer. This means I'm no longer shopping Whole Foods.

Whole Foods is no better than Safeway, or Kroger or even Wal-Mart.

1. rBST in milk and meat gives me scaring cysts all over my face and back. I only get these cysts approximately 6-12 hours after consumption of the contaminated cow product. 2. Kashi meals make my stomach sick for days. I don't know what it is about them but it ain't good. I feel like that poor rat with tumors in its stomach after it ate a GMO corn diet.

I have never shopped Whole Foods before. Due to your stand, you just acquired a customer....as soon as the Highland Villagr, TX location is built. Thank you for doing your part in assisting us in feeding our family healthy food.

Quite honestly, the run in the rumor mill in pristine, health-conscious Asheville is the item missing from this article. WHEN WILL WHOLE FOODS DO THIS LABELING?

Funny how you approved some of my comments - just not the one covering the open question you posed of "Where does Whole Foods say they don't sell GMOS?" To which I answered with a slew of archived news articles in which Whole Foods SAID they do not allow GMOs in stores. There's enough proof for a potential lawsuit, really.

@CALIBASIS - The reason that your previous comment containing various links was not posted is because half of the links did not direct to any actual articles and was deemed unpublished based on our commenting guidelines: No flaming (posting comments intended to induce an angry response). The two links that did work stated that "Companies like Whole Foods, which has set a goal of keeping genetically engineered ingredients out of its products" and "they would avoid the new generation of plants in the ingredients of their house brands." This is true and no where does it state that we claimed to never allow GMOs in our stores. Due to the prevalence of GMOs in the US food supply, we have taken control where we can, in our own private label brand products and soon to be with the labeling of GMOs in our stores.

THANK YOU! As we become more health conscious we need a place to turn to for basic organic, nutritious, affordable food. Instead we have been discovering the horrors in the food industry that have been jeopardizing our health and quality of life for decades! The appearance of GMO foods woke us up! THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE PEOPLE! both for labeling and I'm noticing more affordable pricing.

Wow this all sounds great! One question though... How will you enforce this? Does Whole Foods have the capacity to regulate and enforce something like "non-GMO" labeling? Do you even have the capacity to do that with organics? Sounds like Whole foods (not the farmers) has the deadline to meet.

Thak you. It is very important to my family to know what we eat and we choose organic and non-gmo because we greatly value an healthy diet at the base of our well being. This is a grand decision because it brings hope that in the U.S. people may still be able to know and choose what to eat. I commend you for doing this.

Thank you. I really hope Whole Foods continues to protects our right to know what we are eating. Although GMOs are scary and horrible for our health and planet, the issue has really made me MUCH more aware of what i eat and of where it comes from - so for that, I am grateful. I heard Whole Foods gave into Monsanto, and I was prepared to no longer spend my money at WF. I came upon this article and some faith in you has been restored :) Please do not give in. Please recognize this as a much bigger issue than just us. This spans generations.

I applaud your decision! It's hard to find out which products contain GMOs nowadays as virtually most processed foods contain corn in some form. It is a 30 minute drive to the nearest store but one that I will now gladly make. I hope that the transition will take less than 5 years though. Thank you Whole Foods for leading the country to GMO labelling! We do have the right to know!
