Sip for Student Bicycles

By Elizabeth Smith, February 12, 2014  |  Meet the Blogger  |  More Posts by Elizabeth Smith

According to my dad, he had to walk uphill (in the snow!) to and from school. While I question his claims, I don’t doubt that some students have difficult obstacles – like socioeconomics, geography and gender – to overcome in their journey for an education.

Girls on Bicycles

For schoolchildren in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan, India, the trip to school can take up to 20 miles. That’s why Whole Foods Market and Traditional Medicinals have partnered to support Project Revive!, which aims to empower farming villages in that region. One of the project’s key initiatives is supporting children’s education including supplying bicycles for transportation to school. See what live is like for these children and how Project Revive! is helping in this video from Project Revive! and Traditional Medicinals:

The More You Sip, the More They Cycle

From Wednesday, February 12 to Tuesday, February 25, for every 120 cartons of Smooth Move herbal tea sold, Traditional Medicinals will purchase 1 bicycle to enable children to make a bike ride through the Thar Desert to their schools.

Smooth Move Tea

Organic Smooth Move, an herbal tea that supports healthy digestion, is naturally caffeine free and Non-GMO Project Verified. Choose from Original, Peppermint, Chocolate or Chamomile. Senna – the active ingredient in Smooth Move tea – is sourced in the Thar Desert. So your purchase through February 25 goes towards supporting children of senna farming families in their quest for education. Stock up now!
