The Colorado River is one of the hardest-working rivers on the planet. The lifeblood of the Southwest, the river provides water to nearly 40 million people and in doing so, struggles to complete its journey to the sea. It’s been dammed, dibbed, and diverted so many times that it has not regularly flowed into the Gulf of California since the 1960's, transforming the river’s once-fertile Delta into an arid desert.

Executive produced and narrated by Robert Redford, WATERSHED opens in a new tab introduces hope for the Colorado River and the communities who rely on it. WATERSHED tells the story of the threats to the Colorado River though heartening character vignettes that reveal a new water ethic for the new west. In WATERSHED, we meet a fly fishing guide, a rancher, a Delta restoration worker, a Navajo Council member, a small town mayor, an LA bike messenger, and a group of Outward Bound rafters as they all reflect a compelling new water ethic - one that illuminates how letting go of the ways of old can lead to a path of co-existing with enough for all.

The Redford Center opens in a new tab designed WATERSHED to be an inspirational social action tool for people who want to engage. Since its release, the award-winning documentary has brought together hundreds of community gatherings, has been screened at 45 festivals in a dozen countries, and is on shelves at Whole Foods Market stores across the country now through the month of June.

An incredible community is growing in support of the restoration of the Colorado River Delta and WATERSHED's action campaign, Raise the River, including some high profile players like Will Ferrell, Kelly Slater, and Robert Redford.
