Very informative on how honey is made by the bees and how to extract the honey from the hives. I didn't know that honey was packed with antioxidants and amino acids.

I am trying to locate a retailer of Tasmanian Honey. Does Whole foods have it or do you know of a retailer?

Someone told me that I could buy local honey to help with my allergies. Does anyone know of a store or if Whole Foods carries local honey near Bucks County or Philadelphia, PA?

Is Orgetga mountain honey considered local? I live in North Hollywood CA. If not, does WF sell local honey?

@MARTY - Your local store should definitely have some local honey options. Give them a call and they can let you know what brands they have in stock!

I recently purchased 365 Organic Wildflower Amber Honey. I'd never had wildflower honey, & while I love the taste, it seems to be substantially thinner than any honey I have ever had. Does the thickness of honey vary depending on the type?

@SAM - It sure can. The consistency of honey can be very variable since it is minimally processed and dependent on the time of year it is produced. Thanks for checking!

I'm wondering if whole Foods 365 Organic Wildflower Honey is Raw or not. It doesn't say on the label but was wondering if it being organic covers that stipulation or not. Now that I'm writing this I'm thinking it probably doesn't since milk can be organic and pasteurized. Should I assume it has been heated? I know this deadens many of the medicinal qualities of honey. Thank You

@MICHELLE - The honey is raw as it is only heated to 110 degrees, just enough to melt it for filtering and bottling.
