I love my local producers because they represent the tastes and preferences of the community. I'm so glad Whole Foods has made itself a second storefront for many of these small companies.

Over the last 2 years, I have lost over 60 lbs by changing what I eat. We started shopping at Whole Foods as a way to know more about the ingredients and to use more locally produced goods. I love that so many foods come from local farms. It is nice to know that the food and products that I am buying were made with the same care and concern that I have for taking care of me. Keep up the great work.

I have been eating "healthy" for years, but when I was on chemotherapy for breast cancer, I discovered just how sensitive my body was to unnecessary and "poisonous additives" that are contained in many popular foods. I would become quite ill. That sensitivity has lasted, and although I have a great appetite for healthy foods, I cannot tolerate the "junk". I love Whole Foods where I can trust what I eat on a consistent basis, and as a confirmed "foodie", I have a large range of new and wonderful products to try and enjoy. I am also a gardener and really appreciate the support you give to local producers.

I love my local producers because I am a vendor at our farmers' market, and I know what care goes into the production of goods.

I LOVE my local producers for a few reasons. The quality is always PERFECT, everything is so fresh AND I'm putting back into my local economy. I know my local producers are putting care into what they do to give me and my family the best product possible. They care. National producers don't care about me, just the money. So it's worth it to pay more for my local producers knowing that I'm getting great products every time. I'm buying peace of mine. Thank you Whole Foods!!!!

I'm glad you are doing this. Local foods are way better than organic in my view because you can talk with the producer and tastes awesome! But I'm just curious. PA is the 4th largest producer of apples in the country. I walked in to the Plymouth Meeting PA store a few weeks ago (in February) and all your apples were from Washington. Any insights on this? My local apple farms are offering specials on their apples this time of year, so there doesn't seem to be a shortage of local apples.

I honor my late Father when I shop and buy from local producers. I always enjoyed the sharing of the harvest from his garden so I know the difference between fresh and not so fresh!!

I love local because I love seeing the people who make my food - the farmer who grows my produce, the rancher who takes care of the cattle, the person who takes care of the chickens who's eggs we consume. I get to speak to them and get to know them - it's so different than buying items at the regular grocery store!

I love buying locally grown/made items! I like knowing that less fuel was used to ship the items to me, that the items are generally of higher quality with less preservatives, and that I am helping to support someone that may also be my neighbor!

It makes me feel good to know that the produce I buy is grown by farmers in my own community. It gives us all a sense of belonging to a larger family....and it's easier on the earth.

I love buying local because it makes me feel so close to my food. When I crack open an egg from a local farmer I think about the care and love it took to get that egg to my kitchen. It makes me much more present when I am preparing food when the items I'm using are from local producers.
