Brown Bird is one of my very favorite groups! I love their songs such as By The Reins, Danger and Dread and many others! I love Bluegrass and the Folk musics. I have many favorites as far as artists that are big in the public eye but I don't think you're talking about that. I could be wrong.

I have so many favorites it would be hard to pick just one but Ari Hest would have to top the list. Catch him at Jammin' Java in Vienna during his next visit to the D.C. Metro area.

As an aspiring songwriter myself, I love to hear the tunes of indie artists, love everything from folk to modern, and all types of music in between... Good music is food for the soul!

Ooooo...too many to chose from....I've been involved with music since the 60's and still thrill to the great number of artists continuing to pursue acoustic, folk, and world music. From Woody G and Pete S. all the way to local favorites such as Peter Ostruschko, Billy McLauglin and Glen Helgeson/friends. Also, don't forget the great contribution contemporary native Americans are making to music today. They all brighten my world!

Eva Cassidy is a favorite of mine. She could sing any type of music and make it enjoyable. She was a shining star that diminished much too soon.
