Paul Simon's Graceland is still a favorite of mine. It really introduced me to both genres.

Oh my goodness, we would LOVE to win this! I love exposing my 4 & 2 year old sons to new music! They already can identify a variety of instruments by listening to songs and love the flamenco jazz cds I own already! I would love to add this music to our family's playlist, it sounds fantastic! Pick me!

A singer, songwriter new to me is Annie Clark, recently showcased on NPR and performing under the name St. Vincent. She has a sweet voice over unusual, strange electronic music and guitar sounds. Her collaborative style is intriguing. Her newest album, Strange Mercy, contains songs that are often autobiographical but she refrains from explaining, preferring that the music speak for itself.

"Women of the World" is one of the only CDs I have had for decades and for which I never get tired of listening to.

I first heard/saw Putumayo cd's in a quaint shop in Mount Dora Florida. My wife Dina and I really liked the "world folk" beat, as we call it. Nice stuff.

Graceland! Yes, that's a great choice. For some reason, I think of Ry Cooder's work on Buena Vista Social Club. He added some of his guitar style to the traditional Cuban (folk) songs.

The group Celtic Thunder combines a popular sound with traditional celtic themes and instruments. I have heard Putumayo before. Great sounds.

I am sure with all that I listen to and what my three children listen to that there is more than one collaboration of opposite styles - but I can't think of one off the top of my head. Though one of my favorite TV programs is CMT Crossroads (Country Music Television) - where they take a country musician and pair them with an opposite - like Train and Martina McBride, Keith Urban and John Mayer.

I love the latin beat and flamenco. Blending these 2 forms should be rocking with the fullness of flamenco. I'm looking forward to hearing it and dancing! Great!
