Top Honors from Cooking Light’s 2010 Taste Test Awards

Read on for a chance to tell us which products meet your personal taste test and you might win a year’s subscription to Cooking Light. I’ve always been a sucker for store brands, even before I had ever heard of Whole Foods Market. Why pay more for the same thing, I say. The problem is sometimes the store brand doesn’t quite taste as good as the name brand and you have to make the cruel decision between budget and taste. So, when I was introduced to Whole Foods Market 365 Everyday Value line of products, it was a revelation! I got the best of all worlds—an affordable product with lots of organic options, free of ingredients I try to avoid like hydrogenated fats and high-fructose corn syrup, and best of all they taste just as good (and often better) than similar name brand products. You might think I’m a little biased since I now work here, but I’ve got experts who agree with me. Our exclusive store brands made the cut in six categories of Cooking Light magazine’s 2010 Taste Test Awards. Check out Cooking Light’s October issue for all the winners and take a look at these favorites from Whole Foods Market: 365 Everyday Value Organic Unsalted Butter Whole Foods Market 100% Whole Wheat Bread 365 Everyday Value Organic Diced Tomatoes, No-Salt Added 365 Everyday Value Organic Oat and Honey Granola 365 Everyday Value Mayonnaise GRAND PRIZE WINNER IN THIS CATEGORY! 365 Everyday Value Albacore Tuna in Spring Water Want to win a year of Cooking Light? Tell us which 365 Everyday Value or Whole Foods Market products win your personal taste test awards. On Oct. 12th we’ll pick five reader comments at random to receive a free year-long subscription to Cooking Light magazine.

I really love the 365 tuna. It tastes better than the common brands like Bumblebee and I feel is better for me than national brands. It makes a great tuna salad or over a delicious green salad. It's the only brand of tuna I purchase now.

I love the 365 Organic Honey and Oat Granola. I am usually not a cereal person but it is much better in value and taste to Kashi Cereal. I even use it for cooking with breaded meats add to meatballs and take as a dry snack. I prefer the Tuna 365 has a mild taste and it is delicious on sandwiches and in cooking casserole etc. Wonderful as a salad add apple, celery, onion, nuts ove a bowl of lettuce tomato and cucumber salad. I use 365 canned tomatoes in my soups, spaghetti sauce or just the canned tomatoes themselves. Very tasty. Thanks W#hole foods for the great tasting and healthy 365 brands. I have been a loyal custome for 10 years in the North Arlington Texas store.

365 Organic Unsalted Butter and the 365 Organic Creamy Peanut Butter (no sugar added) are two items that I specifically stop at Whole Foods for because no other store carries any comparable products- in taste or price. We also love the WF farmhouse bread (not sure if it's 365) and 365 mayonaisse for the BEST BLT's and also use same ingredients w/ the 365 Tuna- for great fast and healthy lunches.

I also love the 365 ginger snaps. They are crispy with a great gingery flavor and they come in a resealable bag. I like to keep a bag in the car!

My family has never been disappointed with any 365 product which has landed in our shopping basket. My husband and I commute between Texas and California: upon arrival in either Roseville, CA, or DFW, we immediately head for Whole Foods to replenish both the pantry and fridge. Whole Foods' wonderful chicken salads are a great favorite!

You forgot to mention the peanut butter. We prefer chunky but creamy is just as good. It's just peanuts without all of the added sugar & junk found elsewhere.

I love the 365 Brand Almond Butter. We used to buy the Smooth, but last week the store was out of Smooth and we bought the Chunky. What a stroke of good luck! It is so delicious and wonderful, we will buy the Chunky from now on!

The 365 Everyday Value edamame win my taste test. We use them in soups, salads and stir fry dishes as well as for nutritious snacks. They taste great and are less expensive than Trader Joe's!

My family loves the grahm cracker sticks and my son son loves dipping them in the vanilla yogurt. We drive almost 30 mins just for that(although we usually get more than that)!

I buy 365 Woven Wheats, whole wheat crackers. It has only two ingredients: whole wheat, salt. That's my type of food: simple and healthy. :)

I like the 365 brand of canned beans. There are a few that do not have added salt and none have mystery ingredients.

My family loves the 365 granola. Yesterday I bought several boxes and divided it into individual sandwich bags to hand out as snacks to my daughter's swim team. The girls all raved about it asked for more!

I use lots of 365 products & have used all of the above. I also use 365 nuts, stock & pasta. I found that these products are equal to or better than "store brands". It's wonderful to get great tasting products that truly are a value. Not only do I use the granola for breakfast but add it to yogurt for a crunch & use it for making granola bars!

Whole wheat bread is my favorite. It has a great flavor and a good price to meet my budget. All of the 365 values are what I usally buy when shopping at whole foods.

I received a gift basket from Whole Foods at Christmas that contained all organic 365 Everyday value products. It was so good that I went to the store and had a second basket made up as a present for my dad and his wife. They had become interested in trying to go more organic in their eating. It was a big hit. I use the virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar on a regular basis. Good taste, good value.

I could eat your 365 Everyday Value Organic Oat and Honey Granola for every meal! I eat it for breakfast with almond milk, make it a snack and add golden raisins & almonds for on the go, I sprinkle it over spinach salads with some blue cheese (really, try it!), and use it for toppings and in so many desserts, from oatmeal cookies to topping for peach pie! Now, for dinner you may ask? Soaked in some warmed apple juice, then mixed into a pork meatloaf for a sweet flavor - try that one, too!

The "stoplight" pepper strips in the frozen department are simply terrific. They guarantee that I'm able to use the extra taste boost and nutritional jolt of the red. yellow, and green pepper strips year round at an affordable price! AND no prep time! Just throw them into soups, omelets, casseroles, and go!
