Top Honors from Cooking Light’s 2010 Taste Test Awards

Read on for a chance to tell us which products meet your personal taste test and you might win a year’s subscription to Cooking Light. I’ve always been a sucker for store brands, even before I had ever heard of Whole Foods Market. Why pay more for the same thing, I say. The problem is sometimes the store brand doesn’t quite taste as good as the name brand and you have to make the cruel decision between budget and taste. So, when I was introduced to Whole Foods Market 365 Everyday Value line of products, it was a revelation! I got the best of all worlds—an affordable product with lots of organic options, free of ingredients I try to avoid like hydrogenated fats and high-fructose corn syrup, and best of all they taste just as good (and often better) than similar name brand products. You might think I’m a little biased since I now work here, but I’ve got experts who agree with me. Our exclusive store brands made the cut in six categories of Cooking Light magazine’s 2010 Taste Test Awards. Check out Cooking Light’s October issue for all the winners and take a look at these favorites from Whole Foods Market: 365 Everyday Value Organic Unsalted Butter Whole Foods Market 100% Whole Wheat Bread 365 Everyday Value Organic Diced Tomatoes, No-Salt Added 365 Everyday Value Organic Oat and Honey Granola 365 Everyday Value Mayonnaise GRAND PRIZE WINNER IN THIS CATEGORY! 365 Everyday Value Albacore Tuna in Spring Water Want to win a year of Cooking Light? Tell us which 365 Everyday Value or Whole Foods Market products win your personal taste test awards. On Oct. 12th we’ll pick five reader comments at random to receive a free year-long subscription to Cooking Light magazine.

I am like a lot of people that like the named brands of foods but when i went and started buying everything at whole foods and have been buying there 365 brand its been a real experience in taste and just knowing i get a great value. My husband is a real picky eater, when i started buying the 365 soups his favorite is your organic vegetable soup. Plus his diet is such that i can use your brand with out any worries and know he will eat. thank you so much for being around everything you sell is wanderfull and am still trying new things. thank you

I've been off salt for decades, so I really appreciate the no-salt 365 offerings. The canned tomatoes are excellent, as are the n/s canned beans. I love the fresh ground peanut butter and almond butter and the balsamic vinegar and olive oil. In fact, when there is an option between a name brand and 365, I always choose the 365. The quality is always outstanding.

congrats on the wonderful mentions in Cooking Light! I'm especially happy 365's albacore tuna won because I've been buying this product for years and years now. I love the fresh taste and great price. My other favorite is the 365 grade B maple syrup. Tastes amazing drizzled on some popcorn with freshly grinded pepper and even on an avocado!

So I'd received an email a while back saying that I was one of the 5 winners of the Cooking Light subscription, but I've never heard or received anything further! Can someone let me know the details? Thanks!!

I was always a huge fan of the old 365 Tongol Tuna. I don't eat albacore because of mercury. The new 365 "Skipjack Tuna" that has replaced the original "Tongol" product is more expensive, has half as much tuna in the can, and is not as good. I barely got one sandwich worth out of a can! Plus, the stupid pull-off lid makes it impossible to drain the tuna without loosing bits of fish out of the ton of water. I have a second can in the pantry, but will never buy the product again. So much for standards, 365!

I, too, loved the 365 Chocolate truffles, ESP. the Cappachino (spl?) ones, which were no longer available last year. Please BRING THEM BACK.
