Summer is meant for fun, relaxation, family time (beach, biking, hiking). The best is the veggies and fruit that are in season. Grillin' veggies for dinner and fruit for dessert... who could ask for anything more!

Old nostalgic favorites like fried chicken, potato salad, deviled eggs, veggie crudites, plenty of cold fresh fruit and brownies. During the day plenty of water and juice for the kids. But when evening rolls around we break out the very chilled pinot grigio!

Always have to bring sliced watermelon to the beach...not only is it a great healthy snack but it also keeps me hydrated while I'm baking in the sun (with SPF of course).

Ice Cold Fresh Fruit is the best food to take to the beach! Especially when it's super hot outside, watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes and apples are just so nice and refreshing.

When I pack for a full day on the boat, I bring lots of fresh fruit and a huge salad with a simple lemon juice dressing -- foods that will keep me hydrated and won't bloat me out while I'm hanging out in my bikini. I also make sure to have plenty of coconut water on hand to keep away dry mouth. (And I never forget my wide-rimmed hat to give my face and hair a break from the sun.)

Fruit is a must! The juicier the better, cause you can wash the stickiness off right in the water.

The best foods to take to the beach are the ones that compliment the occasion. We like to go to the lake and take the boat and ski and tube all day. Then, we'll break out the portable grill and enjoy snacks, burgers, and dogs, and ice cold beverages on the beach. But our favorite foods to take to the beach, just might be included in this basket!

Cut up watermelon and cataloupe are summer beach faves! And if we've planned ahead of time, we'll fill water bottles half-way and pop them in the freezer, then top them off in the morning. They keep cold as the ice melts, and help keep anything else in the cooler cold as well.

We are heading to the beach in Mexico next week and we always take chips and homemade salsa, salty snacks and lots of fruits with some Coronas and lime. :) Those under 21 love to have "mock" pina coladas. :) We also take coconut water so no one gets dehydrated! :(
