For a picnic at the water's edge, I like to make grilled chicken w/monterey jack cheese and red roasted peppers on whole wheat & rosemary rolls. Quinoa cooked in vegetable stock w/baked veggies:diced beets, sweet potatoes, black beans, corn, soybeans, garlic then add cumin for flavor. Mixed fruit salad for dessert added to vanilla yogurt.Do I even have to mention that it's all organic?

Down here in sunny Tampa Florida we fill the cooler with fruit, watermelon, cherries (the kids love to have pit spitting contests!) and grapes. Of course I always have to bring along Nature Path's Organic Granola Bars for the kids. The beach makes everyone so hungry. All of us smear on tons of Alba Botanica Sunblock Sport! We love our beaches: Ana Maria, Clearwater, St Pete, Daytona but we also know the importance of having the right supplies with us! Did someone say 365 sweetened Banana Chips and trail mix????? Once you have sand in your shoes......

I think the beach calls for light, refreshing items. I love a grape medley followed by fresh vegetables like cucumbers, carrots, and celery. Of course, while water is nearby, something to drink is required. I like a non-alcoholic spritzer or water with a fruity essence.

Watermelon!! Also, lots of water and some sliced veggies. Anything that is easy for my kids to eat with their hands :).
