I grew up taking every vacation from birth to age 16 at the beach. That said, my favorite memories with my mom are of sitting in the hot sand under an umbrella sipping sun-warmed lemonade from a thermos and eating sun-warmed PBJ sammies. These are still fav treats to take to the beach for me. Not because they taste that good, but because of my childhood memories associated with them.

Due to the heat of the beach, I like to take things that won't melt! LOL I love trail mix with lots of nuts and dried berries. Throw in a cooler full of ice and Izze and I am set! OOO and some nacho cheese Doritos for the heck of it. Gotta have a little bit of unhealthy right? Its vacation!

My perfect beach picnic: Baguette, brie, fresh fruit, cut veggies, and sparkling water.

Cut up chunks of watermelon, puree in blender, freeze in container -- this will double as ice for the cooler and once it starts to melt, it's a great drink for the beach!! So refreshing, it's my absolute favorite. :-)

Dice up some watermelon!

I always bring cut up fruit (watermelon, honeydew and strawberries) that I can eat with a fork, not fingers. I always end up a sandy and with sunblock everywhere that I don't want to touch my food!

when we are on the beach, we like to enjoy easy cool, water filled treats, fruits and easy veggies. especially mangoes. they are fun to peel and messy to eat, and then the inviting water washes you up.

We love to take tofu sandwiches. Wheat bread, slice of tomatoe, about half an inch of raw tofu, a little mayo, and a leaf of basil. Along with a bottle of wine, grapes, and cashews :) yum.

Jean Bradley says …

Sparkling water and power bars.
