Win Satsumas for Sharing

We love sharing the flavor of satsumas! In some cultures, it’s traditional to give citrus to friends and relatives for good wishes and we couldn’t agree more — satsumas make a perfect gift for the holiday season. Bring a bright spot of citrusy sunshine to your holiday season with a box of satsumas and gift one to a friend — on us! Leave a comment below by December 13th telling us who you would share satsumas with and why. We’ll pick 10 winners at random to receive a 13-pound box of satsumas along with another box for the giftee of their choice. A variety of mandarin orange and a cousin to the clementine, satsumas are super sweet, juicy, seedless and easy to peel. They’re only available for a short time (from October to December) so you’ve got to enjoy their sweetness while you can. You can use them in recipes, keep them on hand for easy snacks and as edible table décor…what’s not to love? Find more ways to enjoy satsumas here. So go on, share some sweetness — give someone (and yourself!) the gift of satsumas this season. Leave a comment by December 13th to tell us who would you like to share satsumas with and why for a chance to win! Remember to keep your eye out for an email message on December 14th — you’ll need to respond by Dec 15th in order for us to collect addresses and ship the satsumas for the holidays. We can send the gift box of satsumas to the winner for hand delivery to their giftee or we can ship to another US address. Enjoy! The fine print: No purchase necessary. Promotion ends December 13, 2011. Must be a legal resident of the US, age 18 or older to participate. (Sorry, no shipping on these satsumas to Canada.) Taxes on prize, if applicable, are the responsibility of the winner. Employees of Whole Foods Market, Inc., are not eligible. Void where prohibited.

I would share them with my sister-in-law and her family in New York (who have never had satsumas) so that I can tell her "I told you so!" when she calls me to tell me how sweet and fantastic they are!

I would share them with my grandmother. She is out of town for the holidays and I am sure it would brighten her day to receive a box of satsumas!

My dad is fighting stage 4 tonsil cancer and I would share these with him to give him a much needed and delicious boost of Vitamin C!

I would share them with the senior citizens at the local senior center. It's hard to make ends meet and fresh fruit is the first to be cut out. Everyone deserves a little delicious sunshine for the holidays.

I would share them with my mother-in-law. She was going to pick me up a box to satisfy my pregnancy cravings during your recent one day sale but she never made it. She is so thoughtful & I'm still craving some satsumas!

Satsumas remind me of home -- New Orleans. My family would get them from Plaquemines Parish where they were grown. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, we settled here in the Raleigh area and I know my other family members, who also haven't had Satsumas in a number of years, would enjoy them immensely! They're delicious and healthy!

I would share them with my daughter. My daughter is 3 and has already had 2 baby teeth removed, survived chemo and radiation for retinoblastoma, a type of eye cancer, and had surgery to remove her right eye. She is a blessing to me every day and although we've never had satsumas before, both my daughter and i love fruits and veggies and i know she'd love these fruits as well.

I would share them with my students. Some of the students come to school without having breakfast... sometimes I leave fruit in a bowl on my desk for the kids. Many will eat healthy snacks given the opportunity. Great opportunity to try something new.

I would like to share them with my Mom and Stepdad. They have helped me for the past 6 1/2 years raise my children. They have helped me battle drug addiction. They are loosing their house and declairing bankruptsy after my stepdad was just laid off. When others are enjoying their holiday we will be packing their home that they built 10 years ago.My dad is a registered Land Surveyor in Brevard County Florida and things are very tough right now for anyone in the trades as their is no building going on.

I also wanted to add we used to shop at the Whole Foods in Orlando as my MOM has eaten organics for over 40 years but it is just too far to drive now.

These are fantastic!!! I definitely want to share them with my friend, Tammy, in Tenessee where snow is a plenty, but she and her family are a ray of sunshine, just like these beauties!

Wow, a gift of satsumas?? I'd make satsuma marmalade, satsuma curd and mini satsuma cream pie, and gift friends and neighbors with a personalized gift from my kitchen. I'd send that second box as a housewarming gift to a dear friend who just moved into a new place in New Jersey. Satsumas would be the perfect gift all around--specially in this winter season!

My co-workers... I care about all of them and in this time of frivolous spending, I want to give them something special. And everyone is either trying to lose weight or trying to stay healthy. I feel this is a perfect gift - sharing a delicious treat.
