The end of the '60's into the '70's was such a wonderful time for music! Everyone listened to a bit of everything as the Hippie Generation came full swing. The Who, The Guess Who, Rolling Stones, Beatles,Sly and the Family Stone,Led Zeppelin, Fifth D,Jackson 5, Elton John and even the Archies. One of my fondest memories was slow dancing to Ferry Cross the Mercy with a friend of mine at a school dance. We laughed about that for a long time!

I was in high school during the 80's. During the school year ALL my friends listened to rock. I was the only "backwards country hick" listening to country music, including the old country. They all tried to convert me. By the end of each school year I could name some of the rock songs and could even sing along to them. By the time summer break was over they had to start all over again because I was back to being myself, the 'country hick' that I was. I will never forget Chicago, REO Speedwagon, Journey, The Moody Blues, Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, George Strait, the list goes on.

High school music was full of the sounds of the 60s & 70s, even though I graduated in 1996! Lots of Beatles, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Allman Brothers. I also loved Tori Amos, 10,000 Maniacs, Sonic Youth, Fugazi, Enya, Madonna and Sheryl Crow. <3

The first album that immediately comes to mind is Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms". I played the album over and over and it still some of my very favorite music. It's just amazing to me how important music is and the memories that stay with you forever at the sound of a certain song. It can bring you right back to a certain time and place.

I went to high school in the late 70's and early 80's. I graduated in '82. I listened to Pat Benatar's "Heartbreaker" alot, and also loved the original "Fame" soundtrack. I was always a huge Carole King and Barbra Streisand fan becauswe they are timeless. The groups that were hugely popular then were Journey..."Open Arms" was our 1982 prom theme, (as it was everyone else's I'm sure), and KC and the Sunshine Band...."Celebration" was our 1981 prom theme. Michael Jackson's "Off the Wall" came out during this time as well and I loved that.

I was a teenager in the later half of the 80s!!Some really good music that is sometimes playing at our local Whole Foods: Cyndi Lauper, Bangles, the Go-gos, Tiffany, Simple Minds, and so many more 80s bands. Timeless. It's funny how each generation after likes the 80s music.
