Garden of Life, Inc announced that it is voluntarily recalling its fücoPROTEIN Peanut Butter Crunch bars (formerly called Perfect Weight America Peanut Butter Crunch bars) because the peanuts in the bars were sourced from Peanut Corporation of America (PCA). The FDA has indicated that Peanut Corporation of America is the focus of an investigation into Salmonella related illnesses thought to be caused by tainted peanut butter.
The product being recalled is:

PCA has provided peanuts to one of Garden of Life's suppliers. Even though Garden of Life routinely performs pathogen testing on every finished good lot to ensure safety, it felt it was in the public's best interests to issue its own voluntary Class I recall of its peanut containing product. No illnesses have been reported in connection with fücoPROTEIN Peanut Butter Crunch bars or Perfect Weight America Peanut Butter Crunch bars.
