Phillips Mushroom Farms recals Enoki Mushrooms because of possibl health risk

Phillips Mushroom Farms announced on February 1, 2009 a recall of enoki mushrooms, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The enoki mushrooms were distributed in the United States and Canada through retail and food service channels. The mushrooms were packed in clear plastic bags with blue, green or red graphics panels, plastic tills with overwrap film, or 1lb bags for food service.

The recall was the result of testing on a single sample of finished product taken during a routine product evaluation. The company immediately ceased distribution of the product upon notification of the test result. No illnesses have been reported.
