Into the Oven: Roasting and Braising

Cooking Classroom, $30 per person

This class will be taught by Chef Jeremy. Some of history’s greatest dishes emerge from the oven still bubbling and golden brown. Oven roasting and braising are two of the most consistent ways of cooking food and the oven is a tool we all have at home - now learn the secret ways we use this most basic cooking tool in the restaurant world to make dishes that your family will love. If you want to learn the secrets to roasting and braising that will bring your cooking completely to the next level then join us for a whole class dedicated to the almighty oven. We’ll learn the time tested cooking methods for making delicious braised and oven roasted dishes that will keep you toasty warm, then discuss the science as we dig into a family style meal of comforting favorites. This class has hands on opportunities as desired. Pre-registration is required. On the menu:

·         Mulled Apple Cider with Orange and Spice

·         Ribeye Roast Prime Rib with Salt Crust and Savory Jus

·         Scalloped Potatoes with Four Cheeses and Maple Ham

·         Braised Kale with Sweet Onions, Mushrooms and Garlic

·         Crispy Peach Cobbler with French Vanilla Ice Cream
