Amazing Appetizers: Fall Favorites

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. The weather is cooling down, but entertaining season is heating up! Celebrate the changing of the seasons with bevy of delicious Fall appetizer recipes suitable for quiet night at home or a festive gathering. Learn how to build a great cold weather cheese plate, turn healthful root vegetables, fall fruits and more into hearty and relatively healthy bites that’ll be a hit on the coffee table or the banquet table. Skills learned in this class include how to set up mis en place (kitchen organization) to make appetizer prep quick and easy, and several ways to adapt your plan to take advantage of what you have on hand and what is in season, as well as how to make a delicious Fall punch and a yummy no fuss dessert. This class has vegetarian options upon request and hands on opportunities as desired. Pre-registration is required. On the menu:

  • Sparkling Cider Punch with Ginger

  • Pear Crostini with Gorgonzola and Thyme

  • Goat Cheese Fondue with Seasonal Vegetables

  • Apple Salsa with Sweet Potato Chips

  • Beet Tartare

  • Parsnip Fries with Cranberry Dipping Sauce

  • Kale, Grape and Farro Rolls

  • Apple Crostata with Brown Butter Streussel

If you're taking part in any of the Twin Cities Marathon activities this weekend, look for us! We'll have a booth at the Health and Fitness Expo, provide post-race snacks for the 5K, 10K and Family Activities on Saturday, and be hanging out in the 27th Mile area at the State Capital on Sunday.  Good luck to all the runners!
