Join us for a sampling event focused on the power of produce. We’ll feature samples of our produce favorites, including smoothies, juices, salads and more. Eating more fruits and vegetables is a resolution that you won’t want to give up!

Our Fishmongers couldn’t be more passionate and proud of the seafood we carry! Come learn the basics from the best. We’ll kick off the class with a run through on how to make your selection while discussing cooking tips. Next we’ll select some a few items, demonstrate how to cook them, and we’ll focus on healthier cooking techniques. Samples will be provided! Class held in the seafood department. Looking to make a fresh start in 2014? Curious about detox and cleansing? Join Whole Body Team Leader Lisa Coyne as she discusses detox basics, including specifics on how to go about a juice cleanse or Complete Body Cleanse. She’ll help you make the right choice for your own personal goals. This class will also include a sampling of our made in house fruit and vegetable juices. Plus, we will raffle off a free 365 Complete Body Cleanse kit for one lucky guest!
The New Year is a great time to explore ways to make easy and delicious meal choices! For this store-wide sampling event, we’ll feature Health Starts Here inspired foods and recipes in each department. When you come in, pick up a passport and rate each sample that you try. Sometimes it can be tough to commit to eating salad on a regular basis; so in this class we’re going to discuss the best tips and tricks for storing your produce and preparing things in advance so that you can make salads easily and efficiently. We’ll also show you some of our favorite recipes, including a handy salad in a jar trick for an easy salad to go option! Everyone that attends the class will get to take home the recipes and they’ll also get to take home a free jar of salad to eat later! January 12th: Orientation
- Learn more about what's to come, receive a meal plan (optional), set some goals, and get to know your instructors.
- Choose your path:
- Fire Cadet: A great option for anyone who likes a more gradual approach to living plant-strong. Over the course of four weeks you’ll slowly wean yourself into a plant-strong lifestyle!
- Firefighter: The Firefighter track is the perfect choice for anyone who likes to jump in with both feet! Starting on day one, the Firefighter embraces a 100% plant-strong lifestyle! This track yields maximum results over the course of the Engine 2 Challenge.
January 19th: How do I live without dairy?
- Get recipe ideas and sample some tasty dairy alternatives.
January 26th: What? No meat?
- Try some Lentil Chili and other snacks; learn (and taste) plant-strong® alternatives to meat.
February 2nd: Cooking without Oil
- Learn how to bake, sauté and more without oil!
February 9th: Graduation!
- Celebrate your graduation with dinner, on us!

This class will be taught by Chef Jeremy. In the professional kitchen, we are constantly exchanging tricks and tips between cooks and chefs, always looking to learn new techniques that will make our lives easier and our food better. Now for the first time, we will pass some of these tips and tricks on to you! Whether you want to learn great new recipes or new and different cooking methods to expand your existing repertoire, this is the class for you! We will cook and enjoy some fine dining favorites that will breathe new life into your home cooking! We will also learn new, made from scratch recipes that are easy to duplicate at home without a lot of fuss or special equipment. Take your cooking to the next level with us while learning a bit about how things work behind the scenes in the busy world of the restaurant kitchen! Pre-registration is required. On the menu:
· Appetizer: Sautéed PEI Mussels served with Warm Baguette
· Meat: Grilled Lamb Rib Chops with Fresh Herbs and Garlic
· Potatoes: Au Gratin Potatoes with Maple Ham
