Shop at Whole Foods Market® Yonkers on Wednesday, September 17th where 5% of net sales will be donated to the Children’s Environmental Literacy Foundation to support a sustainability education workshop for Yonkers Public School teachers. Children’s Environmental Literacy Foundation (CELF) provides teacher training and educational programs for students to inspire the next generation of young people to be environmentally responsible and active leaders in their communities. Visit with a representative from CELF in store 12pm-7pm and with Student Ambassadors from 4pm-7pm for a discussion on sustainability and local water issues, which will include a demonstration of LifeStraw® water filters. Your children will have fun with Healthy Eating Cultural Demonstration Specialist Angela Vita creating their own nutritious lunch incorporating the colors of the rainbow. They will also participate in a fun and easy hands on kid’s game that will encourage them to eat the rainbow at every meal. Suitable for kid 6-11 years.
