Thanks to after-hours chefs’ dinners at Roberta’s, a wildly successful pop-up series at Kinfolk Studios, long lines at Brooklyn Flea’s Smorgasburg, and a started-out-as-temporary-but-is-now-here-to-stay noodle counter right here at WFM Bowery, Yuji Ramen’s Chef Yuji Haraguchi has built a devoted fan base in a very short amount of time with his unique take on Japanese comfort food combined with seasonal, local ingredients. Tonight, he goes back to his roots (Haraguchi was a seafood wholesaler before dominating NYC’s ramen landscape) and focuses on fish and shellfish as he prepares a variety of seafood-influenced ramen exclusively for the Culinary Center. Come and see for yourself why Yuji Ramen’s loyal cult following continues to grow, and show your support for more delicious things to come!

On the Menu: Omakase (“Chef’s Choice”) Tasting of Shoyu- and Mazamen-Style Ramen.

The 8 days of Hanukkah usually occur during the month of December. But thanks to a once-in-a-lifetime meeting of Hebrew and Gregorian calendars, the first day of Hanukkah and Thanksgiving Day 2013 both fall on Thursday, November 28 this year. (This has happened only once before in 1888, and won’t happen again until 2070!) To celebrate the convergence of two major food holidays, join us for a fun hands-on workshop that combines the best of both worlds and covers all the bases.

On the Menu: Edna Lewis’ Southern-Style Smothered Turkey Thighs; Brisket with Ginger, Orange Peel, and Tomato; Roasted Fingerling Potatoes with Figs & Thyme; Lynn Kutner’s Sweet Potato Latkes; Savoy Cabbage Slaw with Apples and Candied Walnuts; Balsamic Braised Brussels Sprouts with Shallots & Bread Crumbs; Rustic Apple & Rutabaga Tart.
