On warm-weather weekends, Brooklyn’s Red Hook ball fields are teeming with crowds who come to watch neighborhood soccer games while noshing on some of the city’s best street food. Visit these vendors and you’ll be pleasantly surprised with authentic regional dishes from Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America—all made fresh to order from colorful food trucks or makeshift stalls. In tonight’s class, you’ll taste a few examples of what’s cooking in Red Hook this summer, and learn how to recreate the standout dishes you’ll find at the ball fields.

On the Menu: Salvadorean Cheese & Chorizo Pupusas with Pickled Cabbage Slaw; Puebla-Style Huaraches with Chile-Rubbed Chicken; Spicy Shrimp Ceviche; Mango Flower on a Stick.

Traditional Greek cooking is often light, simple, and resplendent with seasonal ingredients—the perfect cuisine to enjoy during warmer summer months. In this class, we blend a bit of the old and new: we’ll turn out traditional dishes with healthier, inventive twists, and celebrate the flavors of today’s authentic Greek cuisine.

On the Menu: Classic Greek Salad; Chicken with Feta, Olives, and Fresh Oregano; Black-Pepper-Crusted Tuna with Cucumbers and Herb Salad; Tzatziki with Fennel, Roasted Beets, and Feta.
