Never use a dull knife or scissors again. Bring in your knives and scissors for sharpening with Scott Jennings of X-Calibur. He uses state of the art water cooled professional machines to bring your blades back to life. Price list: up to 4"= $3, 6" to 10"= $7, 4" to 6"= $5, 10" to 15"= $10. Scissors start at $5. Every last Saturday of the month.

On warm-weather weekends, Brooklyn’s Red Hook ball fields are teeming with crowds who come to watch neighborhood soccer games while noshing on some of the city’s best street food. Visit these vendors and you’ll be pleasantly surprised with authentic regional dishes from Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America—all made fresh to order from colorful food trucks or makeshift stalls. In tonight’s class, you’ll taste a few examples of what’s cooking in Red Hook this summer, and learn how to recreate the standout dishes you’ll find at the ball fields.

On the Menu: Salvadorean Cheese & Chorizo Pupusas with Pickled Cabbage Slaw; Puebla-Style Huaraches with Chile-Rubbed Chicken; Spicy Shrimp Ceviche; Mango Flower on a Stick.
