Warm and Cozy Cold Weather Desserts
Tuesday, October 21st
6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Cooking Classroom, $25 per person

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Outdoor temperatures are falling, which is the perfect time to get the oven temperatures rising. A delicious, comforting cake, pie or crumble can warm the house, the tummy and many a gathering. We’ll focus in particular in this class on the wonderful fruits of Fall and the many different ways to use them in desserts. We’ll go over how to select great fruit for baking, how to make a curd, how to candy nuts/seeds, how to poach fruit and how to create a great crust for a galette (pie’s less fussy cousin). Dinner will not be served during this class, but you will take home lots of desserts, so please plan accordingly. This class is vegetarian friendly, with hands on opportunities as desired. Pre-registration is required. On the menu:

  • Cranberry Curd with Candied Ginger Pistachio Crumble

  • Cornmeal Cake with Port Roasted Grapes

  • Maple and Star Anise Poached Pears

  • Gingersnap Crusted Pumpkin Tart with Pumpkin Seed Brittle

  • Apple Galette with an Aged Cheddar Crust

Pre-registration for classes and select events required. See class description for specific instructions. Registration required no later than 48 hours prior to the class date. Call 612-927-8141 or visit our customer service desk to pre-register. Classes and events are subject to change or cancellation. If you cannot attend your class, you must call Whole Foods Market Lake Calhoun and cancel at least 48 hours in advance. You will receive classroom credit for the amount of the class to be used no later than three months from the date of the class that you registered for.
