Engine 2 Healthy Eating Challenge Registration

Want to try something new and healthy for your body in 2015? If so, we have just the thing! We are beginning our next 28 day challenge based on The Engine 2 Diet book by Rip Esselstyn. Every Monday at 5:30 PM starting January 12th, Elena, Whole Body Team Member and Registered Dietician, will educate you on how to improve your health and increase your energy and longevity.  We will also have Certified Personal Trainer, Elysia Bires, on hand day one to discuss fitness, and will have other exciting opportunities throughout the challenge.

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS ENGINE 2?  Engine 2 is a plan of action for following — and sticking to — a heart-healthy, mind-healthy, body-healthy, taste-bud-tempting plant-strong® lifestyle, created by former firefighter, Rip Esselstyn. When you follow the Engine 2 Diet, you adopt a whole food, nutrient-dense, plant-strong way of eating. This means you eat a vast variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. 

Registration for the challenge starts on December 26th and ends on January 9th. Please register in advance by emailing Charissa at charissa.bires@wholefoods.com

Date Night: Healthier Indulgences

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. If you and your sweetie are trying to eat more healthfully without sacrificing flavor, this is the class for you! A romantic meal with a loved one is a great way to spend an evening, but so often, those fancy meals can do a number on your wallet and waistline. In this class, we’ll focus on delicious dishes decadent enough for a special occasion, but secretly healthful enough that you could make every night date night if you wanted to. Working with fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins and healthy fats, we’ll whip up a feast, with lots of tricks and tips for healthier cooking along the way. This class has hands-on opportunities as desired and gluten-free and/or vegetarian options available upon request. Pre-registration is required. On the menu:

  • Grilled Zucchini Involtini with Hearts of Palm
  • Seasonal Salad with Pistachio and Pomegranate
  • Cauliflower Bisque with Roasted Garlic Gremolata
  • Winter Squash Carbonara with Wine Braised Mushrooms
  • Double Chocolate Torta
