The Whole Kids Club presents...Mastering the Muffin Tin
Saturday, September 20th

Cooking Classroom, $5 per Whole Kids Club member, $8 per non-member

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Muffin tins are pretty cool kitchen tools! We can use them, of course, to make muffins and cupcakes, but they can do so much more! We’ll think outside the muffin and create three dishes that we bake in a muffin tin...but there won’t be a muffin in sight. You’ll learn how to make pizza muffins, salad muffins and muffin tin pies with fresh fruit, and Chef Ani will read you Laura Numeroff’s tale of what happens when you give a moose a muffin, too. This class is hands on.  Vegetarian options are available (please specify upon registration). Classes are suitable for kids 5-14, and are drop off classes- kids only please! Pre-registration is required.

Organic Valley is hosting public farm visits across the nation, including one departing from and returning to Whole Foods Market Maple Grove. This class will be taught by Chef Jeremy. The foods of Peru are heavily influenced by the country’s vibrant Spanish and Italian communities and Peruvian cooking has become a wonderful melding of European techniques informed by Peruvian cooking and Peruvian ingredients. The food critic Eric Asimov has described it as one of the world’s most important cuisines and one of the best examples of fusion cuisine, due to its long multicultural history. Peru is particularly famous for its seafood, which we’re sure to showcase via the fantastic seafood available at Whole Foods Market. If you’ve ever thought about skipping the trek to a restaurant and instead doing something just as impactful and more appealing to the senses, look no further. This class is chock full of cooking tips, demos and of course, delicious food. Chef Jeremy will turn the routine of dinner into a fun and meaningful evening during which you can enjoy each other’s company as well as a fantastic four-course meal, stress-free. This class can be gluten free upon request and has hand on opportunities as desired. Pre-registration is required. On the menu:

·         Sparkling Lemon “Pisco” Sour  (non-alcoholic)

·         Seafood Ceviche with Red Onion, Chiles and Sweet Potato Chips

·         “Antichuchos”: Traditional Peruvian Grilled Skewers

·         “Pollo a la Brasa” Marinated Roasted Chicken served with Steak Fries and Salad

·         Vanilla Ice Cream with Dulce de Leche and Alfajor Cookie Crumbs
