Kids Culinary Class: Veggiecation!

This month, kids will learn how to prepare Pumpkin Cookie Smoothie and Snap Peas with Carrot Ginger Dressing.  As practiced in participating classrooms throughout the country, kids will be invited to help prepare Veggiecation Program’s recipes, sample culinary creations, experience vegetables in their raw form and cast a vote on how they liked the recipes.  Kids will take home complimentary character coloring pages, word games, mazes and stickers.  Parents will receive a copy of recipes created that day.

Please register in advance at Customer Service or email Ridgewood.RSVP@wholefoods.com.  Age group for this program incorporates kids from Kindergarten to 6th grade.

About Veggiecation: The Veggiecation ©Program, founded by Lisa Suriano (also a native of Ridgewood!), is a nutrition education program that introduces young children to the wonderfully delicious & nutritious world of vegetables. This is done by incorporating unique & kid-friendly vegetable preparations into fun activities & exciting experiences.

Whole Kids Tent Event: My Social Canvas Kids Paint Party

My Social Canvas is an NYC-based company that connects brands, students, and the community through design and then donates a portion of profits back to social causes. Our friends from My Social Canvas will be hosting a kids Eat A Rainbow Paint Party in support of Whole Kids Foundation and invites kids and families to create your own Rainbow Salad Designs. $10 per child participation fee, includes canvas lunch tote. Proceeds donated to Whole Kids Foundation.

Cupcake Decorating Class -Fundraiser For Whole Kids Foundation

Our bakery team will host a 1 hour cupcake decorating class in our cafe from 10AM-11AM. All proceeds will be donated to The Whole Kids Foundation. 

 

Whole Kids Foundation Mission is to:

 

·        Provide schools with salad bars through our partnership with Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools

·        Provide grants for school gardens and related programs

·        Offer cooking and nutrition education for school teachers and staff

·        Support The Lunch Box online tools, which help cafeterias transition to serving more fresh, whole foods
