Our Community Support Days are a very meaningful way we give back to our community. On this designated day 5% of that days store sales are donated to a local non-profit organization. This quarter, Whole Foods Market Ontario has selected Oomama. This is a grassroots, volunteer organization, one of over 250 grandmother groups across Canada involved in the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign led by the Stephen Lewis Foundation. In support of Africa's unsung heroes - grandmothers raising grandchildren who have lost parents due to the HIV/AIDS crisis. Have you been thinking about focusing on a Healthier Lifestyle? While being fun and informative, our 28 Day Challenge will guide and support you as you work toward your own healthy-eating goals (whether you want to reduce your meat, dairy or processed foods … or to go vegan… or something in between) – these workshops will have useful helpful and healthful information for all. Take the 28-Day Challenge! A change like this can be, well, challenging. So, to help you along the way, we’ve planned five complete weeks of healthy eating. In each weekly class, we will help you along the 28 Day Healthy Eating Challenge with a collection of useful tips – so you’ll have a basic roadmap to guide the way.
The presentations and group discussions will be led by our Associate Store Team Leader, Chef Joshua Thatcher with a special appearance from Whole Body Team Leader Mary Frewen to speak to vitamins and supplements. The course includes a binder with extensive handouts (including 28 days of Healthy Eating Guide), lots of Health Starts Here samples, recipes, a free 2 week fitness pass to the Mississauga YMCA Fitness & Health Centre, PLUS fun treats on the final evening. The group will meet every Tuesday at 6:30 pm (October 16th - November 13th).
