This class will be taught by Chef Jeremy. Take control of your life by changing what you eat! We can live better, stronger lives by learning more about what fuels us: our food. Limiting certain ingredients in your diet can be a great way to reduce or control inflammation. Why? Ingredient Spotlight: Spicing It Up
Thursday, April 2nd
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Cooking Classroom, $30 per person

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. One of the most potent powers in the pantry is the power of spices. These dried fruits, seeds, roots and barks are the key to developing some of the kitchen’s most dynamic flavor profiles, and when faced with a wall of tightly sealed glass jars, it’s easy to be intimidated. In this class, we’ll teach you all about spices- how to buy the best, store them properly, toast, grind and blend them to create the tastes of India, Morocco, Mexico and more. We’ll also show you how to select and slice the perfect meat for fajitas, bake up the crispiest oven roasted potatoes, and whip up a quick and easy, spicy sweet Mexican chocolate pudding. Soon, you’ll be pulling out spices for everything from channa masala to maybe even your morning bowl of oatmeal. Once you unlock the power of spices, your groceries are just a blank canvas waiting to be flavored. This class has gluten free and/or vegetarian options upon request, and hands on opportunities as Pre-registration is required. On the menu:

●       Chinese Five Spice Roasted Almonds

●       Chana Masala with Indian Garam Masala

●       Fajitas with Tex-Mex Chili Powder

●       Crispy Roasted Potatoes with French Fine Herbs

●       Grill Roasted Zucchini with Ethiopian Berbere

●       Sweet and Spicy Mexican Chocolate Pudding
