Our One Dime at a Time program provides an incentive to our customers to reuse their grocery bags while developing stronger communities. At the register, customers have the option to receive a 10¢ per reusable bag refund or they can choose to donate it to that month’s selected charity organization. From January through March, all donations will benefit the Whole Planet Foundation – a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is poverty alleviation through microcredit in communities worldwide. Breaking into a wheel of our 24-month aged Parmigiano Reggiano is like cracking open a bit of happiness.  Join us in our store as we simultaneously crack and sample over 400 wheels of authentic Amazing Parmigiano Reggiano, the Mightiest of Cheeses, across all of our stores in the US, Canada and the UK.

 

We currently hold the Guinness World Record for the most numbers of wheels cracked simultaneously, following last year’s successful event. Since we currently hold the world record, we will not compete again for this record but will again host an in-store “cracking” event to celebrate this delicious phenomenon, with free samples provided!

Knife Skills: Intermediate Techniques

This class will be taught by Chef Jeremy. In this Intermediate Edition of our popular series of Knife Skills classes, we will concentrate on expanding on foundational kitchen skills. By learning (or re-learning) the basics we will help you develop technique that you can use to continue building your skills well into the future. We will be utilizing fresh seasonal ingredients as we work, improving your knowledge and making you more comfortable in the kitchen. Chef Jeremy will demonstrate these techniques,  then assist you as you perform several basic cutting techniques as a class. The knowledge and skills learned in this class will provide you with a solid foundation that you will use in the kitchen for the rest of your life. This class is gluten free and has great vegetarian and vegan options available upon request. Please  note that this class is very hands-on and you can expect to both cut and cook foods during class under supervision of the chef. No previous experience required. Pre-registration is required.  On the menu:

·         Salad of Citrus Supremes with Watercress and Homemade Sherry Vinaigrette

·         Pan Roasted Chicken Breast with Garlic, Lemon and Thyme Pan Gravy

Techniques perfected over hundreds of years combined with intensely aromatic spices, unique ingredients and storied cultural heritage. These are a few of the reasons why India draws people from all over the world into its amazing food culture. Explore the world of Indian cuisine with us as we travel halfway across the world to experience food in a way that no other culture in the world could possibly emulate. If you’ve ever thought about skipping the trek to a restaurant and instead doing something just as impactful, but more appealing to the senses, look no further. This class is chock full of cooking tips, demos and of course, delicious food. Chef Jeremy will turn the routine of dinner into a fun and meaningful evening during which you can enjoy your company as well as a fantastic four-course meal without having to stress about the cooking.

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Gather round goblins, witches and ghouls, it’s Halloween time! It’s time for tricks, treats and delicious creepy snacks, to show off your costume, and to learn the history of Halloween. In this fun class, we’ll whip up lots of delicious things to eat without icky artificial coloring or high fructose corn syrup. We’ll whip up brains, monster teeth, a graveyard, and other foods only a mummy could love. This class is open to kids 5-12 and are drop off classes- kids only, please! Vegetarian options are available and costumes are encouraged! Come ready to cook! Pre-registration is required.
