All during the month of September, Whole Foods Market in Brentwood will collect gently used shoes for the Shoeman Water Project. This non-profit organization exports donated shoes to over 75 countries around the world including Kenya, Haiti and South America. Shoes are then sold to raise money to drill water wells, install water purification systems, repair pumps, and train local residents to operate and maintain pumps. The Whole Kid’s Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Whole Foods Market in July 2011. The organization’s mission is to improve children nutrition by supporting schools and inspiring families.

This year’s campaign will raise money to support Schools, School Garden Grants and a Healthy Teacher’s Program. Local recipients of garden grants include AlSalam Day School in Manchester, Maplewood-Richmond Heights Early Childhood Center in Maplewood and Clay Elementary in St. Louis.

This will be a family-friendly, 2-hour project with tasks for everyone ages two and up! This is an opportunity for adults, teens, and kids to partner together in service for our community. We will have plenty of tasks and games on-site for little ones whose attention may wander. The best part is being all together! Following the cleanup, we will provide a magical (free) build-your-own salad-bar with all the fixings to help model the fun of "eating a rainbow" in honor of the Whole Kid’s Foundation!
