It’s that time again grill-friends! The end of summer marks our 3rd Annual Grass-fed Beef Burger Cook-off. Local area chefs grill it up in the parking lot and compete to see who can make the best grass-fed beef burger. There are two winning titles to covet, Crowd Favorite and Judges Pick. Cast your vote for the Crowd Favorite and automatically enter to win a brand new outdoor grill! Catherine Neville of Feast Magazine, and members of the Whisnant Family Farm will vote for the Judges Pick. Both winning chefs get $500 to donate to the local charity of their choice. Voting stops at 7:45 p.m. and winners will be announced at 8:00 p.m. So come on, hang out with us at Whole Foods Market in Brentwood for awesome burger samples, Schlafly beer, live music from Swing DeVille and good old fashioned competition.

KidSmart’s Push for Pencils School Supply Drive

KidSmart’s Push for Pencils, the largest drive of its kind in Missouri, is a community-wide school supply drive which takes place every August. The movement is grassroots and includes more than 150 participating businesses, 50,000+ employees and individuals throughout our community. Each year, 500,000 essential school supplies are collected, and then directly distributed to tens of thousands of local children through the KidSmart Free Educational Supply Store. More than 90,000 local, school-aged children live in poverty and often attend school without basic supplies. Supporters of this campaign believe that every child deserves a chance to have the learning tools and educational experiences they need to succeed in school and thus throughout life. Please join us in collecting school supply items all month long for this essential program. The receptacle will be located near our exit door.
