Dark chocolate pretzel balls, yogurt cherries and milk chocolate graham crackers … my sweet dreams are made of these. Growing up in a house where sweets were limited, I became a bit obsessed with them.
At age seven, my cousin and I started a candy club in a decorated cardboard box. (All candy welcome. No siblings allowed!) While I’ve since refined my candy preferences, my enjoyment of confections remains strong.
Do you have a sweet tooth too? Whether you’re a traditionalist and prefer milk chocolate malted milk balls or you’d rather go wild with dark chocolate goji berries, try the Confectious® line of confections, found only at Whole Foods Market®. Finding sweet treats that meet our quality standards — no artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, preservatives or hydrogenated fats – and that also taste great can be a bit of a challenge.
But our grocery buyers work hand in hand with the team at Garvey Nut & Candy to develop Confectious confections that meet our standards and yours. Garvey Nut & Candy provides us with more types of dark chocolates, milk chocolates, gummy candies and yogurt-covered sweets than you can shake a chocolate-covered banana chip at.
Not only do we like Garvey Nut & Candy’s products, we also really like Steve Corri, one of the faces behind the label.
We recently chatted with Steve and this is what he had to say about his start in confections, his relationship with Whole Foods Market and our line of Confectious candies:

From notes to nuts
I wanted to go to music school, but my father encouraged me to sell bee pollen. I eventually sold nuts and seeds to markets and it all grew from there. I worked out of my truck, day in and day out, delivering items to small mom and pops that today are household names like Health Valley.
Giving, giving, giving
“Whatever you want, I can do for you.” I’ve been saying that for years. That’s how we’ve grown as a company. That’s how we provide 150 jobs in our community. That’s also how my family has been able to adopt an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico.
People who know people
Our relationship with Whole Foods Market came about how everything comes about in life. Someone on our team knew some people who knew some people. We had some products that fit their needs. It grew from there.
Ingredients for excellence and excitement
New items are coming. Chocolate almonds, chocolate peanut butter bananas, and get this — all natural Jordan Almonds. No one can do those! But with these incredible ingredients we’re sourcing, they’ll be the best candies you’ve ever have. Creating the Confectious recipes for Whole Foods Market got me excited again after all these years in the business. I’m excited about hunting for and creating products Whole Foods Market can sell to their customers – candies their customers might have been missing and candies they can feel okay about eating.
Steve’s persistence, dedication and energy are just three of the reasons we wanted you to meet him. The other reasons are waiting for you on our shelves.
Whether you’re looking to fill Easter baskets or simply satisfy your sweet tooth, find dark chocolate almonds to gummy bears to milk chocolate almond toffee from Steve, and his extended family of 150 co-workers, on our shelves under the name Confectious. If you haven’t tried them yet, you’re in for a treat.
My seven-year old self says, “What are you waiting for? Join the club!” My (cough cough)-year old self says, “Listen to the kid.”
