It's Portland Beer Week and we are celebrating with Allagash Brewing Company of Portland! This is a terrific opportunity to taste a wide selection of their unique variety of traditional and experimental Belgian-style beers made with a dedication to craftsmanship and quality including White, Dubbel, Tripel, Hugh Malone, Confuence, Fluxus'12 and Curieux.. All of their bottled beers are bottle conditioned, which means that just prior to bottling; a fresh dose of yeast is added, along with a measured amount of candi sugar. Then the beers are moved into a temperature controlled cellar, where the yeast will actually begin a new fermentation in the bottle which naturally carbonates the beer, and greatly enhances the traditional Belgian character. Come give them a try! As always, enjoy with nibbles of cheese and other seasonal treats.
