Many times it seems like the goal is to deprive yourself of certain foods to “get over” food cravings. The exact opposite is really the case. The goal is to eat freely, but to eat whole unprocessed plants foods that are micronutrient dense and that have a low glycemic index. That could be berries or apples; or lentils, beans and peas; or foods like yams, sweet potatoes or squash; or simply beans and greens.
