Tofutti Brands Inc. expanded its recall of 25 pallets of its 4-Pack YOURS TRULY frozen dessert cones (UPC 0-20188-01500-9) due to possible trace level milk contamination reported for one lot of product shipped which was produced in August of 2010 to include lot number 2360. YOURS TRULY CONES are labeled as Milk Free and persons who have an allergy or severe sensitivity or intolerance to Milk products run the risk of serious or life-threatening injury if they consume products with milk ingredients.

The product being recalled is:

4-Pack YOURS TRULY frozen dessert cones (UPC 0-20188-01500-9)

The 25 pallets from the suspect lot are being recalled. The bulk of these 25 pallets were sold along the east coast and the Midwest, with some additional sales of product in the Southwest and the West Coast.

The product in the above 25 pallets is identified by the labeled Manufacturing facility code 18-497 which will appear printed on one of the two end flaps of the box of the YOURS TRULY CONES along with a production code of either 2330, 2350, or 2360 which will follow right after the plant code.

Sally Jackson Cheese of Oroville, WA is recalling all cheese products, including cow, goat, and sheep, because they may be contaminated with Escherichia coli O157:H7 bacteria (E. coli O157:H7). E. coli O157:H7 causes a diarrheal illness, often with bloody stools. Although most healthy adults can recover completely within a week, some people can develop a form of kidney failure called Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS). HUS is most likely to occur in young children and the elderly. The condition can lead to serious kidney damage and even death.

Rushing Waters Fisheries of Palmyra announced Tuesday it is recalling about 225 pounds of smoked trout and smoked salmon spreads because the products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Most healthy individuals are either unaffected by Listeria or experience mild flulike symptoms, according to state officials. However, it can cause complications in pregnant women and have more serious effects on newborns, older adults and people with compromised immune systems.

The products being recalled are:

  • Smoked trout spread labeled lot number 00694 with a sell-by date of Dec. 13, 2010
  • Smoked salmon spread labeled with lot 50012 with a sell-by date of Dec. 11, 2010

No illnesses have been reported from eating the spreads. The contamination was discovered through routine testing conducted by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection.

In response to a recall commenced by its supplier (Mincing Overseas Spice Company, Dayton, New Jersey), Frontier Natural Products Co-op, is voluntarily recalling two products manufactured with non-organic nutmeg that were sold under the Frontier brand and under the Whole Foods Market brand listed below that contain nutmeg supplied by Mincing Overseas Spice Company. The nutmeg has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Whole Foods Market announces that one of its suppliers, Bravo Farms of Traver, California, has issued a voluntary recall due to evidence of Listeria and E. coli contamination at their plant. Bravo's products at Whole Foods Market stores in Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington are part of this recall since they were cut and packaged in clear plastic wrap and sold with a "Distributed by Whole Foods Market" sticker.

All of the following products are included in this recall:

  • Silver Mountain Cheddar
  • Chipotle Cheddar
  • Premium Block Cheddar
  • Premium White Chunk Cheddar

Quong Hop & Co. of South San Francisco, California is voluntarily recalling all "Raquel's" hummus, salads, wraps, sandwiches, and other food items, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

The recalled products include "Raquel's" brand salads, sandwiches, wraps, hummus, burritos, and stuffed grape leaves. Raquel's Hummus products are dated September 23, 2010 and prior, and Raquel's salads, wraps, sandwiches, and other items are dated August 3, 2010 and prior. "Raquel's" brand products are packaged with multiple ingredients and in a variety of sizes.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem. Quong Hop has ceased the production and distribution of the affected products and is investigating the cause of the problem.

The company determined through independent laboratory testing that one lot (Best Before: DEC-11-2010, Lot: 222418) of Mt. Vikos Manouri cheese, 4 oz, which was distributed to the marketplace, has been confirmed positive for Listeria monocytogenes. However, as precaution the company is recalling all Best By Dates for both items that are currently in the marketplace. Mt. Vikos is working with the FDA to conduct this recall.

DeBoles Nutritional Foods, Inc. announced that it is recalling one lot code of DeBoles® Kids Only Gluten Free Tubettini Corn Pasta because it may contain undeclared whole wheat alphabet pasta. People who are allergic to wheat run the risk of an allergic reaction, which may be serious or life-threatening if they consume the recalled product.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with this product. It appears that certain product boxes in lot code 30JUN11D1 may contain whole wheat alphabet pasta mixed with the gluten-free tubettini corn pasta in packaging that did not declare wheat as an allergen and, as a result, the product is being recalled. The alphabet pasta is clearly visible and is a darker color and characteristic alphabet shape compared to the yellow corn small-tube pasta.

The company has received six reports of incidents of the water bottle spouts breaking or cracking in children's mouths as they were drinking from the bottles. No injuries have been reported.

Of the numerous samples taken by both Premier Organics and the FDA of lot 90811, only one sample came back positive for salmonella. Premier Organics has ceased distribution of Artisana Tahini lot 90811 as they continue their investigation with the FDA into what caused the problem. No other lots have been affected. It is important to note that there have been NO REPORTED ILLNESSES to date.

Notwithstanding our internal quality safeguards, the Plum and Walnut filling was inadvertently put into the Wild Blackberry containers for some subset of this production run. The company has notified its distributors and retailers where the product was distributed and has asked that the products be removed from the shelves. Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc. today announced that it is expanding its voluntarily recall of pistachios to include all roasted shelled pistachios and roasted in-shell pistachios from its 2008 crop due to potential contamination with the Salmonella organism. The Company is also recalling raw shelled pistachios from the 2008 crop that are not subsequently roasted prior to retail sale. The brands packaged for retail sale subject to recall can be found in the table below. The voluntary recall was expanded as a precaution.

This voluntary recall is in response to the expanded recall involving all peanut products produced by the Plainview Peanut Corporation of Texas, a subsidiary of Peanut Corporation of America located in Blakely, GA facility.

Feb. 20, 2009 --- Tri-Union Seafoods LLC is issuing a precautionary recall of the 5-ounce variety of Genova solid light tuna in olive oil. Due to a production error, the product is mislabeled and contains albacore tuna in soybean oil with vegetable broth that contains soy. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soybean run the risk of serious allergic reaction if they consume these products.
