Cooking Arctic Char
| How | How Hot | How Long* | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grilling | oiled grill grates (to prevent sticking, brush fish with oil, too) | medium heat | 8–10 minutes |
| Baking | parchment-lined baking sheet | 350°F oven | about 15 minutes |
| Sautéing | large skillet with a thin layer of olive oil | medium to medium-high heat | 6–8 minutes |
| Steaming | parchment packet sealed tightly and arranged on baking sheet | 400°F oven | 10-15 minutes |
| Poaching | covered deep skillet with simmering combination of seasoned broth, wine and/or water about 2/3 as high as fillets | medium heat on the stove | 8–10 minutes |
*In general, a one-inch-thick fish fillet should be done after about 10 minutes using any cooking method, but always check before the time is up! It’s ready when the flesh is opaque and easily flakes with a fork.
