Creamy Chocolate Frosting
Makes about 1 1/2 cups

Use this creamy vegan frosting sandwiched between cookies or spread onto brownies. Thin the frosting with extra almondmilk to create a pourable sauce for dipping fresh fruit.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup unsweetened almondmilk
- 1 cup pitted dates
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
Method
Warm almondmilk and dates in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Simmer until dates become soft, about 10 minutes.
Pour the date mixture into a food processor or blender and purée until smooth.
Add cocoa powder and vanilla extract, and purée again.
Chill for at least 30 minutes to let the frosting firm up before serving.
Flavor Variations
Chai: Add 1/2 teaspoon garam masala, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg.
Ginger Spice: Add 1 teaspoon ground ginger.
Mexican Spice: Add 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon cayenne or chipotle powder.
