Makes 2 cups
Time 1 hr
Peppery Grape Compote makes a sweet and spicy topping for your harvest desserts and main dishes, from cheesecake to pork tenderloin. Mix it up by using a variety of grapes, and infuse a little holiday warmth by including whole cloves, star anise or a cinnamon stick.
Special Diets:
Ingredients
- 3 cups red grapes
- 1 orange, zested into long strips and juiced
- 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
Method
Combine grapes, orange zest and juice, pepper and salt in a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer over low heat.
Cook, stirring occasionally, until grapes begin to pop and liquid is syrupy and slightly thick, about 30 minutes.
