Whole Foods Market Virginia Beach proudly supports many non-profit organizations in our community through a charitable giving program that includes 5% Days, Nickels for Non Profits, donations of food for community events and team member volunteering days.

IN-KIND DONATIONS
Throughout the year, Whole Foods Market Virginia Beach makes in-kind donations of food, drinks and gift cards/baskets to community events and non-profits. If you are interested in requesting support, please complete our Donation Application and submit to:

Please be advised that requests need to be submitted at least eight weeks before your event to be considered for sponsorship. Whole Foods Market accepts donation request applications from local, non-profit organizations with current 501(c)3 status. The event, fundraiser or program must serve our local community. The store will not donated to causes outside of our local area or to individuals or teams participating in fundraising events. Whole Foods Market cannot make donations to political or religious organizations unless the donation will be used for a local, non-secular community-service related event or program.
NICKELS FOR NON PROFITS & COMMUNITY 5% DAYS
Nickels for Non Profits: If you have shopped with us before, you know that $.05 is taken off your bill for every bag you bring in and reuse. You have the option to donate that nickel to one of two charities on your way out of the store.
5% Days: On designated days throughout the year a total of 5% of the day’s net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days.
To be considered for a Nickels for Non Profit or 5% Day partner, your organization must:
- be a registered non-profit with a valid Certificate of Exemption.
- complete a 5% Day or Donation Application completely and provide a copy of your 501(c)3 letter
- be able to provide a consistent in-store presence on the 5% Day.
- work with Whole Foods Market to develop marketing strategies and in-store events to promote the 5% Day.
- not have been at 5% Day partner with ANY Whole Foods Market store within the past three years.
- submit a report of how 5% Day funds were used by your organization, and recognize Whole Foods Market’s contribution to your organization via appropriate venues.

The Nickels for Non Profit application is the same Donation Application listed above. Both 5% Day and Nickels for Non Profits partners are chosen each fiscal quarter. The application deadline is rolling, and applications are kept on active file for one year. Please be aware that due to the overwhelming number of requests, our store is unable to accommodate all donation applications that we receive. Submitting an application is the first step in this process and does not guarantee support of any kind from the store.
