We have supported local growers and producers since 1980. Buying local means supporting local communities, jobs, independent farmers and producers; it also reduces the distance from farm to plate, and lets you stay connected to the seasons. This summer we will highlight LOCAL in every department; from local flowers to coffee, honey, cheese, pies, and more! We hope you will stop by and help us support our local growers.

Whole Foods Market has an active community giving program. Each store location works with their surrounding neighborhood and it is truly a local program. We provide donations to non-profit organizations, schools and food banks. We also hold 5% Day fundraisers where we select a non-profit partner and on the selected event date, 5% of the day’s sales are donated directly to the non-profit. 5% Day fundraisers are held four times a year.

Please let us know how we can support your event and the needs of the community. We enjoy working with organizations that match our commitment to the environment, conservation and health. We love hearing from new groups and how we can help your mission. Common items that we donate include fresh fruit and bottled water, catering, body care items, gift baskets for auctions and dry goods/non-perishables. Typically we do not offer cash sponsorships. We work with you to find a solution that best suits your organization and your recipients. We have the entire store at our disposal to choose from and are proud to offer solutions to groups in need.

Unfortunately, we cannot donate to political or religious organizations. To request a donation, please fill out a Donation Request Form. Donation Request Forms can be picked up at our Customer Service desk. A copy of your IRS Ruling letter verifying your non-profit 501(c)3 status must accompany each donation request. (Organizations that do not hold a 501(c)3 status cannot be considered.) Our Community Liaison Ann Beisel reviews each request, and since product is ordered specially for the event, we require at minimum 30-60 days notice for your donation request. Last minute requests will not be accommodated. 5% Day applications are also available at our Customer Service desk. While we would love to be able to help everyone, we have a dedicated donation budget each month and need to work within the designated budget framework. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate all donation requests. From the many donation requests we receive each month, approximately 2-3 non-profit groups are selected to receive support from our donations program.
