Bakery

Exploring our bakery is a toothsome delight for any fan of sweets and savories because our hearty breads, baguettes and focaccias are baked in-house. You'll find the city's best bagels and pastries in our self-serve area. Most importantly, all of our delicious baked goods are made from natural ingredients-no artificial colors, artificial sweeteners, synthetic preservatives or bleached flours. And check out our Confiserie for a wide range of traditional to exotic chocolates and European candies and our Hot and Cold Dessert Bar for warm bread pudding, fruit crisps, rice pudding and chocolate trifle.

New for Bowery: freshly baked granola every day and pies made by scratch the old-fashioned way. Don’t forget to bring in your reusable pie tin for redemption of $1.50!

Culinary Center

Increase your kitchen confidence in our state of the art culinary center. We offer hands on and demonstration classes with some of New York's best chefs, artisans and growers including our own in-store experts. Generous samples provided. The Culinary Center is also available to rent for a fee for private parties, small group or one on one cooking instruction, and non-profit events.

Floral

Our Floral department is a treat for the senses with loads of vibrant blooms and fresh scents, locally grown and responsibly grown. To make any event a sight to behold, simply consult with our knowledgeable floral team.

New at Bowery: Mini bouquets inspired by French and Japanese floral arrangements. These inexpensive arrangements are just the thing to impress a first date, cheer up a friend, or to give just because.

Grocery

It's always a one-stop shopping experience in our Grocery department! We offer an extensive selection of products, including gourmet olive oils, quality housewares, and environmentally friendly cleaning products. (We also carry a huge selection of alternative-diet items.)

Many of our products are sourced from around the neighborhood, like Feed Granola made in the West Village. We also seek out the best from around the globe, such as Guayaki's Yerba Mate Energy Drinks from Paraguay. For top-quality items at great prices, look for our house brands: 365 and 365 Organic Everyday Value.

Meat & Poultry

Our Meat department sells the highest-quality meat and poultry this city has to offer. We get our meat from trusted vendors, so it's free of antibiotics and hormones. We also feature a selection of dry-aged steaks, as well as frozen meats, kosher poultry, and a whole line of ready-to-cook items and more!

New at Bowery: an expanded selection of in-house handmade sausages and a huge selection of in-house smoked meats, such as bacon, chicken breasts and pork chops.

Prepared Foods

Our Prepared Foods department showcases the freshest choices for lunch and dinner — restaurant-quality items customers love from our other New York City locations, plus many more top-notch selections.

Rustica Minardi Osteria
Pull up a seat at our osteria-our own Italian restaurant Whole Foods Market-style. At Rustica Minardi our chefs prepare your selection to order using the freshest ingredients possible. We offer an array of classic antipasti, fresh pastas and entrées using our finest seafoods and meats. And we feature regular specials so stop by frequently to see what's new.

Sushiya
Sleek and modern, Sushiya offers sparkling fresh sushi available by the plate. Sushi chefs place prepared dishes on a revolving conveyor belt for customers to select and enjoy. Sushiya also offers Asian-inspired salads, spring rolls and a selection of dim sum, as well.

Fresh & Wild
The Fresh & Wild salad area highlights farm-fresh salad vegetables and toppings that are local whenever possible. With 12 signature salads, wraps, soups and a slew of salad bases and toppings to choose from, our goal is to help the customer build a dream salad! Don't miss the creamy avocado, whole grains and roasted vegetables.

Pommes Frites
Totally indulgent and utterly delicious — this is our recreation of those exalted frites stands in Belgium. We use hand-cut russet potatoes and fry them to order, according to classic methods. Choose from our more than 14 in-house prepared condiments and specialty salts, such as truffle and smoked sea salt to accompany your frites.

Seafood

Welcome to our huge Seafood department and the freshest fish in the city! Because Whole Foods Market is the only supermarket with its own fishery, Pigeon Cove, in Gloucester, Massachusetts, our sparkling fresh fish is delivered daily to our store and directly to our customers.

New at Bowery: an in-house smoked fish section. In addition to salmon and trout, we'll smoke scallops, shrimp, whole red snapper and black sea bass.

Specialty

Welcome to our Specialty department for all kinds of exclusive items, like cheese from such celebrated cheesemakers as Old Chatham Sheepherding Company, Neals Yard Dairy and more. You'll also find ready-to-roast coffee beans in a variety of blends to indulge your every whim. For a quick cup of Joe, our full-service coffee bar, brews everything from traditional coffee to iced blended to herbal teas.

New at Bowery: Unlike any other supermarket in New York City, our brand new Fromagerie features an aging room to give select cheeses a chance to mature in the right environment and allow them to develop to a perfect ripeness. Our cheese specialists traveled to France to study this art with world-renowned affineur Hervé Mons.

Welcome to the Fromagerie at Whole Foods Market Bowery

Our Fromagerie is a temperature and humidity controlled walk-in cheese "cave" designed to mature and maintain cheese at optimal ripeness and deliciousness. Styled after the petite, refrigerated shops of France, our Fromagerie allows customers to "interact" with the cheese. As the environment in the room is controlled; the cheese can sit out in plain view, without the artificial divide of a counter or glass getting in the way. This allows our customers to see, smell, and, with the help of our knowledgeable Team Members, select the cheese that is just right for them.

The room represents the collaboration of cheese makers and affineurs from around the world, including Herve Mons, Neal's Yard Dairy, Luigi Guffanti, Rolf Beeler, and more. We feature an assortment of the world's best cheeses, from traditional European varieties like Montgomery's Cheddar and Hervé Mons Camembert, to innovative American cheeses like Jasper Hill Constant Bliss and Uplands Pleasant Ridge.

Whole Foods Market Bowery is the only Whole Foods Market in the United States that boasts a Fromagerie.

Fromagerie Vocabulary:

Affinage: The craft of aging and maturing cheeses, to help them achieve peak ripeness.

Artisanal: Cheeses produced by a skilled craftsperson, usually by hand and in limited quantities, using high quality ingredients and traditional methods. Whenever possible, these cheeses will be unpasteurized, which must aged be 60 days or more.

Whole Body

We've taken our Whole Body department to the next level ... literally! If you are in the mood to pamper yourself, visit our second floor for a wide variety of nutritional supplements and vitamins, as well as luxurious, natural body products and cosmetics. Our body-care products have no artificial ingredients or colors and are not tested on animals. They are made with the highest-quality, natural ingredients and are free of harsh chemicals and unnecessary fillers, and they can be easily sampled in complete Beauty Center.
