What is it about good bread?  Fresh, aromatic, hearth-baked bread can satisfy, inspire and comfort.  That is why we offer organic, hand-crafted artisanal breads made with the finest ingredients using Old World techniques.  Our Bread & Circus Bakery artisanal breads are baked fresh in-store every day.  Look for delicious varieties like Flax Quinoa Wheat, Olive Ciabatta and Polenta Pistachio. 

Bread isn’t the only thing baked in the Brighton store.  Our talented team of pastry chefs produces gorgeous layer cakes, coffeecakes, cornbread, fruit tarts and more.  And who can resist a freshly baked homemade cookie.  You’ll find all your favorite flavors plus whoopie pies, éclairs and crème brulee, all made with natural sweeteners, fine chocolate and cage-free eggs.  Any Bakery Team Member will gladly speak to you about what we have to offer special occasions and birthdays.

We also carry a wide assortment of baked goods for customers with special dietary needs. Check out our freezer stocked with gluten-free cookies, muffins, pies, sandwich bread and pizza dough baked at the Whole Foods Market dedicated Gluten-Free Bakehouse.  You’ll also find a tempting selection of vegan, low fat and sugar free cookies, brownies, doughnuts and biscotti.

Specialty

Our Specialty department is a little gourmet shop inside the Brighton store! We've got all the highest quality specialty foods and cheese you could ever need - to treat yourself or impress a crowd. You'll find tangy chèvre from New England, finely-aged hard cheeses from Spain, creamy brie from France and many more. The best thing is that you can get as much or as little of whatever you want at our service case. Our team members are more than happy to cut off a little piece of cheese for you to sample before you making up your mind.

Other gourmet items include Peppadew Sweet Piquante Peppers from South Africa, Crooked Birch specialty dips, salsas and sauces from New Hampshire and classic & creative chocolate truffles from Knipschildt Chocolatier located in Norwalk, Connecticut. Olives of all types and flavors abound as well as specialty items from the Mediterranean and beyond.

We are also proud to offer organic and Fair Trade coffees from Allegro Coffee Company and local coffee roasters like New Harvest in Pawtucket, RI and Dean's Beans in Orange, MA. Tea aficionados will find a fine selection of Rishi loose teas, tea pots and accessories.

Floral

Our floral department greets you as you walk in the door. Gay, the floral supervisor, and her team take pride in presenting the freshest, most beautiful flowers and plants around. They offer an array of perennial favorites as well as Fair Trade roses and other unique and seasonal items. A Brighton team member is always available to gift wrap your selections. We are also happy to create custom arrangements and centerpieces for special occasions. Don’t hesitate to ask us to create something extra special.

Grocery

Our grocery department stocks a myriad of conventional and organic products made with only natural ingredients. We carefully select every item we sell to ensure that it is free of artificial flavors and colors, preservatives and hydrogenated oils. You'll find everything from lowfat organic yogurt to premium ice cream, corn flakes to hemp granola and chocolate chip cookies to gluten-free graham crackers.

Visit our bulk aisle where you can buy just the amount of raw ingredients you need for a recipe or stock up on healthy, unrefined foods like brown rice, quinoa, millet, nuts and seeds. Whether you desire freshly ground peanut butter or can't resist a handful of chocolate covered pretzels, the Brighton bulk department will satisfy all your cravings. Meat & Poultry

The Meat Team is ready to provide you with a full range of antibiotic and hormone-free products including beef, pork, lamb, game meats and a full selection of poultry. All of the hot dogs, sausages and bacon we sell are nitrate-free and delicious. We also offer organic, 100% grass-fed and local beef for the discriminating carnivore. Our team members are busy at work every day grinding meat, making sausage and preparing oven-ready items like chicken kebobs, meatballs and stuffed roasts to help you get dinner on the table quickly. Bill, Keith and Mitch are all masters at the craft of butchery and can cut any piece of meat or poultry to order for you. Also ask about our “Family Pack” discount on ground beef and chicken parts.

Prepared Foods

Our Prepared Foods Department includes a wonderful full-service carvery station, soup bar, sushi bar, hot meals for you to carry home and a tempting array of salads and ready-to-heat & eat foods. We offer freshly made Panini sandwiches every day during lunch time and savory comfort foods for dinner.

Vegetarians and vegans will find a generous selection of meat-free ethnic foods like vegetable samosas, Asian noodle dishes and spring rolls. And we always offer tofu, vegetable and whole grain side dishes for anyone looking for healthy alternatives. Our salad bar, located in the produce department, offers fresh cut vegetables, cheese and other protein-packed options.

Produce

Our company's award-winning produce was first sold in our original Bread & Circus store in Brookline. Here in Brighton, we've continued the tradition of offering you the best fruits and vegetables we can get our hands on. Our buyers love the summer and autumn seasons when they can get just-picked corn, tomatoes, leafy greens, squash and other flavorful produce from local growers. From June to October, we are proud to offer an assortment of vegetables from Allandale Farm in Brookline and Davidian Farm in Northboro, MA. Silvanio and his team are always around to offer you a sample or to answer any questions you might have; please feel free to ask for assistance.

Seafood

The seafood department in Brighton carries a wide variety of fresh and frozen items to satisfy all tastes and budgets. If you prefer white fish, we have flounder, sole, haddock, cod, halibut and more. Shellfish-lovers can indulge in steamers, clams, oysters and crabs. Whole Foods Market is committed to supporting sustainable fisheries and responsible aquaculture practices. Look for the Marine Stewardship seal of approval on our frozen fish sticks and fresh offerings like wild salmon and halibut. Many types of fresh seafood are seasonal so please call ahead to confirm availability.

Check out our smoked fish case for cured and smoked salmon, smoked trout, bluefish spread and the like. We stock a large assortment of marinades, dips and sauces to turn any piece of fish into a gourmet delicacy!
