This class features great cabin style dishes perfect for summertime grilling! Join chef Amber as she shows you Grilled Pizza's, Southwest Short Ribs, Grilled Peach Cobbler, S'Mores on a stick and more. I'll see you at the bonfire!

Whole Kid's Club Presents: Breakfast Bonanza!
Half Pints Class Ages 3-5
With Culinary Director Amber
10:00–10:45 a.m.    $5 per child for WKC Members/$8 for non-members
Half pints and their caregivers are invited to explore food in a fun and creative environment. Half pints are encouraged to try new foods and learn the importance of clean hands while trying out recipes designed just for them. This class is limited to 12 attendees total. Younger siblings in carriers or strollesr are welcome to attend too!

Do It Yourself Mozzarella

Making cheese can be easier than it sounds. Chef Amber will show you how to make your very own fresh mozzarella. Then you'll create and enjoy a delicious caprese salad with perfect heirloom tomatoes and finish off with a surprise dessert! Class is hands on. Come ready to cook!

Come and learn how you can spice up your kitchen with all things Thai! Join Chef Amber as she introduces you to new ingredients from a Thai kitchen and techniques for Thai cooking. She'll be preparing dishes such as Larb Gai with Thai Sticky Rice, Thai Vegetable Curry, Pad Thai and Black Sticky Rice with Coconut. A gluten/dairy free class.

This class will cover the topic of food allergies. Discover what they are, how they operate in the body, how to eliminate them, and the relationship between behavior and food. Witness a live demonstration of the use of applied kinesiology (non-invasive testing) in determining food allergies!

If you feel intimidated by cooking seafood, this class is for you! You'll sail on over to our Seafood Department with Chef Amber to meet the team and pick out our seafood for the evening. Then you'll head back to the kitchen to prepare delicious dishes & learn different cooking methods for preparing seafood such as searing, poaching & grilling. Come hungry.

With this amazing fruit in season we must take action in making SALSA! We'll showcase all the varieties, taste them and make 3 different kinds of salsa including a fresh, roasted, and cooked. Date Night: Pizza..that's Amore!

With Culinary Director Amber
Roll the dough & spread the sauce with that special someone to make heavenly pizza, calzones or bread sticks. Chef Amber will guide you through making the perfect pizza dough, using different sauces, gourmet toppings & cheeses, then tricks to getting a crispy crust. You'll then create your own, bake it off & enjoy it together with a big bowl of Caesar salad and Pellegrino. Now that's amore!

Raising Healthy Children
9:00–11:00 a.m.    Free
With Dr. Tim Fargo, clinic director, Chiropractic Health & Wellness Center
This workshop looks at many childhood ailments and what the causes might be. Some of these include: food sensitivities, ear infections, scoliosis, bed-wetting, colic, childhood fevers and strep and sore throats. Learn new and better ways to approach a treatment program and find out how sports affects the young body, how nutrition affects learning ability, and how to know if it's truly ADD/ADHD and the avenues of treatment.

What's On The Grill Series: Feelin' Saucey

This class is all about the sauce! Join Chef Amber as she gives you ideas in making your very own grilling sauce's to use with beef, poultry, pork and vegetables. Not only will there be the traditional BBQ but also new ideas using Asian and Caribbean flavors. You'll also be sampling these sauces with items we choose from our Meat & Seafood Departments along with scratch baked beans, cornbread and slaw! Yum!

All American
Kids will join ChefAmber to make it all American. Together you'll make a creamy Potato Salad, Grilled Hamburgers, a fruity Red White & Blue Salad and take home your very own mini homemade Apple Pie!

Thursday, July 10th

Italian
Kids will join hands-on, with chef Amber, to turn Italian for a day! Together you'll make Fresh pasta with Tomato Sauce, Garlic Bread, Italian Meatballs & Biscotti.

Caribbean

Just for Kids

Is your child a budding chef? Whole Kids Club classes are a unique way for children to explore new foods in a fun and creative environment. Each class will be designed for a specific age group. Participants will learn about different foods, cooking utensils, and the importance of good eating habits. At the end of the class, each child will be able to take home his/her creation and the recipe to share with the family. Please sign up at the Customer Service Desk. The sign up deadline is two days before the class is scheduled. Class dates are subject to change or cancellation based on number of attendees.

The Friends of the Minneapolis Public Library present Childish Films @ the Library, a program of classic, independent and new world cinema for ages 3 and up. Presented by Deb Girdwood and Isabelle Harder, children's film curators for the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Film Festival, each screening features a pre-show activity. Whole Foods Market will provide complimentary healthy snacks. Admission is free with open seating for the public.
