Tuesdays in August

Half Pint Treat Tuesday
All Day    Free
Each week there will be a different department featured. See Customer Service to get a wooden token good for one treat from the featured department. Children up to age 10(accompanied by an adult) may participate. Only one treat per child, per day.

Wednesdays in August

Farmers' Market at Whole Foods Market Mt Washington (Parking lot near Starbucks)
4:00-7:00 p.m.    Free
Every Wednesday through October 29th
Rain or Shine. We support Local Growers & Producers. The Farmers' Market is in full swing. Come meet local farmers and producers and support them.

Fridays in August

Half Pints Friday
10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
This Friday and every Friday join Molly in the Café to register. Kids receive a gift bag when they register and have a chance to pick a rubber duck for a prize every week. They get their official Half Pints Club card and use it in various departments to receive free samples. 10:30 a.m. is story time in the Café. Join Molly for all the fun! Look for two additional great story time activities-details follow.

What's Cooking Wednesday - Labor Day Theme
12:00-2:00 p.m & 5:00-7:00 p.m.
See what we've got cooking for your backyard cookouts and picnics this Labor Day weekend. Check out what special items we're sampling in our departments.

Thursday, August 21st

Grilled Cheese Class-Back to School (in the Café)
7:00 p.m.    Free
Join us for a wonderful class with our terrific cheese expert, specialty Team Leader, Michael Fowler. Moms and dads learn to make a variety of grilled cheese sandwiches that the kids will enjoy-perfect for kids for back to school. Seating is limited. Pre-registration is required.

Friday & Saturday, August 29th & 30th

Labor Day Weekend Grilling
Friday, 4:00-7:00 p.m. - Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
We’ll be sampling all kinds of delicious food to give you interesting choices for serving this holiday. Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Monday, September 1st

We will be closing at 8:00 p.m.

Tuesday, September 9th

5% Day 5% Community Giving Day
The Greater Homewood Community Corporation Adult Literacy & English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Program began in 1989 and has built a reputation of providing quality, learner-centered instruction for learners in need of individualized attention. In the past two years, they have worked with nearly 900 adult learners as they have increased their reading, English language, and general life skills, toward making better lives for themselves and their families. They will have volunteers in our store to tell you about their organization and they have lots of fun things planned for the day. 5 % of all sales will go to them on September 9th so tell your friends, relatives and associates to shop here.

New items to donate Backpacks, binders, pens, pencils, lunch boxes, composition books, hygiene products, clothing (ages 5-17) This campaign will reach over 3000 young people in need of NEW school supplies and clothing. www.pmjfoundation.org


Donations
If your non-profit organization would like to request a donation, please stop by our Customer Service Desk for an application. All requests must be made at least 30 days in advance and include a copy of the organization's 501©3 letter from the IRS or the request cannot be processed.


BYOB (Bring Your Own Bag)
We've eliminated plastic grocery bags at the check outs. Please help the environment–Bring your own bags next time you shop and receive a 5 cent refund for each bag you use.


Store Tours by Appointment
Whether you are new to the neighborhood or a loyal customer we'd be happy to take you on a tour of our store! Visit our store, find out about the quality standards we use to select products, and receive tips on how to shop smarter.
