Getting Kids Active and Well Nourished
6:30 - 8:30 pm Free
Do you care about the future of children in Canada? Children are increasingly less active and nourished. Child obesity rates are rising. Let's do something to get more children in the playgrounds and gymnasiums along with nutritious food in their lunch boxes.
This summer Leehe Lev of Whole Self Fitness (http://www.wholeself.ca) was in Vermont working at Camp Kaizen, a camp for overweight girls aged 10 to 14. One of Leehe's visions is to start a similar camp in Ontario.
If you want child obesity statistics to drop, Tuesday December 2nd is a night to help make that happen. Come network with others who are passionate about getting Canadian children healthy and fit.
Schedule for the Evening:
6:30 - 7:00 pm: Introductions and networking with some healthy snacks
7:00 - 7:20 pm: Leehe Lev will give a brief summary of her experience at Camp Kaizen (http://campkaizen.com/) this summer.
7:20 - 8:00 pm: Group discussion - share ideas, create an action plan and form committees according to skills and interests that will help bring down those child obesity statistics!
8:00 - 8:30pm: More networking - open to health and fitness professionals, teachers, child and youth workers, camp directors, parents, and people with a keen interest in children, youth and healthy living.
Please RSVP to Leehe@wholeself.ca by November 28th. Space is limited to 20 people.Wednesday, December 3rd
