Produce and Floral

Your tour starts in our bountiful Produce department.  We are proud to feature fruits, vegetables and herbs from local growers as well as exotic produce from around the world.  Whole Foods Market is committed to supporting Organic farming, and you'll find that most of the produce in our store is certified Organic.  Be sure to taste a sample of our house-made guacamole, some of the best around!

Our expanded floral department is stocked with bright flowers and luscious potted plants from local nurseries, Whole Trade Guarantee^TM tropical farms or certified Organic growers.  Our outdoor garden center features locally grown veggie starters and certified Organic soil and compost.  Whether you need a single rose or flowers for an entire wedding, we have what you're looking for.

Specialty

Bakery

If you time your tour right, you'll step into the Bakery as soon as we're pulling fresh-baked muffins, cookies and artisan breads from our oven.  We dare you to resist the mouth-watering smells!  You'll find cupcakes, pies and decorated cakes that are beautiful and delicious from local bakeries, or place a custom order for your next special occasion.  We carry an extensive selection of vegan and gluten-free* baked goods, including our Whole Foods Market Gluten Free Bakehouse^TM line, which is prepared in a dedicated gluten-free bakery in North Carolina.  All baked goods at Whole Foods Market are made with the same quality all-natural ingredients that we sell, and are always made with cage-free eggs.

Sail away to our incredible new Seafood department, where you'll find fresh fillets, carefully selected shellfish and hand-prepared crab cakes (a store favorite).  Whole Foods Market is certified by the Marine Stewardship Council^TM, which means all of our seafood comes from fisheries and farms that are committed to preserving the Earth's waters and preventing over-fishing.  Our Farm-Raised Quality Standards are unequalled in the retail world, and we are proud to offer fine restaurant-quality seafood every day.

Meat

You'll next find yourself in our Prepared Foods department, the perfect stop for a healthy lunch or a quick fix for dinner.  Don't know where to start?  Ask for a sample!  Our thirty-foot chef's case features ready-to-serve Whole Foods Market recipes from salads to entrees to desserts.  Find lunch at our huge salad bar and hot bar, freshly prepared sushi from our in-house chef, or choose from over eight house-made vegetarian and meat or seafood soups daily.  We feature a different Great Buys! special every day of the week, and a full catering menu.  Place an order for your entire graduation party or holiday dinner, from start to finish.  You'll find a link to our catering menu located on the left side of your screen.

Dairy

At Whole Foods Market, all of our animal products, including dairy and eggs, come from humanely treated farm animals that are never given synthetic hormones or antibiotics and are always fed a vegetarian diet.  You'll find an amazing selection of Certified Organic milk, yogurt, and cheese from cow, sheep or goat's milk.  All of our eggs come from free-range chickens, and we challenge our customers to find a better everyday price on cage-free eggs.  The Dairy department is also where you will find cold juices and bottled beverages like kombucha, cold soy and nut milks, meat alternatives from tempeh to seitan, fresh horseradish, hummus and tortillas.

Frozen

Visit our huge frozen section where you will find fruits and veggies, prepared meals, sprouted breads, breakfast foods and of course desserts - delicious cakes and pies, fruity sorbets, creamy gelatos and more types of frozen dairy alternatives than you can shake a popsicle stick at!  Look for gluten-free* and vegan options, as well as locally-produced pizzas and frozen wheat grass juice.

Bulk

Our Bulk department might be the largest you've ever seen.  Covering over thirty feet, we offer cereals, nuts, dried fruits, flours and, joy of joys, candy - much of which is certified Organic - free from added packaging, advertising and environmental costs.

Grocery

You'll find everything you need for your pantry in our Grocery aisles.  If you've never tried anything from our 365 Everyday Value^TM private label line, ask a nearby Team Member for a sample.  We'll be glad to open a package and introduce you to this high-quality value priced line.  Our aisles are filled with locally-produced items, international specialties and artisan imports, as well as all-natural cleaning and paper products.  Save money and trips to the store by buying in bulk - we offer a 10% case discount on almost every item in our store.

Customer Service

We've come to the end of our journey, and yet we're smack-dab in the middle of the store!  Our check-out placement is a little peculiar, but we do a lot of things differently here.  Our building proudly shows its history.  A car dealership (which explains the garage door openings) and a host of natural-food stores have called 1111 Chicago Avenue home over the past half-century.  Whole Foods Market is happy to inhabit this space, with its elegant exposed brick and obvious progression of architectural styles, and continue to serve the Evanston and Rogers Park communities the highest-quality, best-tasting and healthiest foods and natural products.  Thank you for stopping by, and we look forward to serving you the next time you are in!
